Arlington House Hotel - Self Check-In Suites

Nice decor. Dogs can stay but should be booked into ground floor rooms not in the attic.

Recent new ownership meant the suite was understocked with insufficient cutlery, crockery, toilet paper. Utility area and back yard filthy and a potential rat hazard with lots of overflowing bins in the yard and food remains spread about. Didn't want to let my dog go out there despite the host suggesting it. Host had very little local knowledge eg. where to park so you don't have to pay and be in a restricted time bay. We were staying a week so luckily manged to find free parking on the side street beside the property. Hadn't been warned on booking that our room was up several flights of stairs - too far given the amount of luggage we had and some mobility issues

Lovely clean room and bathroom facilities.

No curtains or blinds on window, just a flimsy see through curtain lining, and I was therefore awakened at 5.30am with room being very bright. I telephoned the owner, left voicemail and sent an email asking about a room with curtains, but still haven't received a reply. Disappointing. Do not expect to see anyone or experience any type of customer service.

Good location on the high street of Wooler, very close to several pubs and restaurants. And the main road was only a minute away to go further afield. Room was comfortable, nicely decorated and spacious. Enjoyed the seating area and kitchenette. Bathroom also nicely presented. Boot room on ground floor provided more useful facilities. Door codes were provided by email and had no issues using them.

Floor under beds was dusty and a piece of litter there too, seen this on other reviews before booking so I looked when I arrived. It just needs vacuuming more often.

It was well maintained and clean.

The drain in the sink was very smelly. We didnt have a spare toilet roll so had to go and find a new one when it ran out. We had trouble finding the place and had to ask for the entrance code, would have thought this would have been sent prior to our arrival. The telephone number provided on your system wasn't answered. We didnt know what room we were in and had to try the number at each door to find our room. Won't be recommending this place or staying there again.
