Arlington House Hotel - Self Check-In Suites

The hotel is tastefully decorated, the facilities in the room were good and the location in the centre of Wooler is very convenient for walkers on St Cuthbert’s Way.

A room change had taken place without my knowledge or consent and I was never informed about this. As a result, upon arrival I could not access the room I had booked, because it was already occupied by other guests. I tried calling the hotel multiple times but could not reach anyone. The only response I received was a very short email repeating my original check-in information and referring me to a customer service number that was also unreachable. So if a problem occurs during self check-in, there appears to be nobody available to actually help resolve it, which is not ideal after a long day of hiking. I ultimately had to resolve the situation myself by speaking to the other guests, after which it became clear that they had been moved rooms due to medical equipment needs. I had specifically booked a room with a bath after several long walking days, but was moved to a room with only a shower. The blackout blind shown in the room photos was also missing, making the room very bright early in the morning.

Location is great

The facilities were lacking, cutlery limited and only one glass one loo roll and only one bin liner between three bins, still no cupboard knob so had to open the fridge door to get the next cupboard door open for plates, small details I recommended last time we stayed.

Very good value for money. Good shower & comfortable room. Cafe along the street ideal for breakfast.

No meals were provided- breakfast was I believe an option provided by a hotel down the road. Lovely location on Wooler High Street, bakery, Coop, pubs and takeaways all within easy walking distance. Large, bright room and decent bathroom.

Room was a little bit tired- some of the items on the inventory were missing; would have been a problem if I was part of a couple, one of the blinds didn't work properly, neither did one of the bedside lights. No toilet paper in the room on arrival (found some in the boot room down the hall). Had not been hoovered under the bed recently. Something needs to be done about the front door- unless it is closed carefully it slams violently- this is just beside your head if you are sleeping in Cold Law- very much not appreciated when people use the door at 5am as happened to me.

Location.

Mould in bathroom on window. Shower hanging off the wall, so daren't use it in case it caused water leak. Mould in bedroom area on ceiling. Ceiling had been badly repaired where there had clearly been a water leak. Tried contacting staff, left 3 voice messages and a text message, but never heard from anybody. We stayed for 2 nights, so had to wash at the sink.

Good location....

Communication was non existent, sent maybe 6 messages without a single reply. Dirty....huge cobwebs & dust hanging off the kitchen unit. Limited supplies, no coffee, only 1 spoon. Walls & ceilings thin so you could hear everything in the building.

Very clean great location ideal for a nice couple day break
