The general ambiance of the building and the evening meal was spectacular

We spent one night in an absolutely stunning room in this beautiful pub. So clean and new, but set in an incredibly old building. The crispy sheets and towels were so luxurious, and they provided bathrobes too. There was a lovely selection of teas and coffees and biscuits left for us in case we got peckish - but we didn't as we dined downstairs and had the most amazing meal. The food was spectacular. A continental breakfast was also delightful the following morning. We were served by Tom and his colleagues and every single member of staff we met was completely charming. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The pub is on an A road, so there is some traffic noise going past 24/7, so if you are a light sleeper, pack your earplugs (but it was not that othersome to us).

The breakfast looked great but unfortunately didn’t start until 8am & I needed to leave by then so didn’t really get to enjoy it.

Lumpy pillows. Small bathroom with awkward toilet roll placement (Hound room).

The rooms were really spacious, clean and comfy. It felt like a home away from home! The staff were really accommodating and friendly.

Its character , great staff , fabulous spacious bedroom, superb supper and perfect breakfast.

A charming, ancient coaching inn with many ‘period’ features. With only 3 guest rooms, the professional and personable staff (particularly Tom) looked after us superbly. The New Inn clearly has a highly talented chef - our evening meals were exceptional - the best burger (with brisket) I have ever tasted. The Butty Bach beer was smooth and well-kept.

Sited on the corner of a very busy crossroads, the traffic noise was intrusive particularly as the warm weather demanded open windows. We empathise with the New Inn’s dilemma regarding breakfast. Employing a chef to cook a breakfast for only three rooms would be expensive. However, the ‘continental’, cold breakfast supplied was most disappointing. An odd range of foods, poorly presented covered with cling film, looked and was most unappetising. Perhaps a local bakery could take on breakfast with the opportunity to order from a menu the evening before? Otherwise, rebranding as an excellent ‘Restaurant with rooms’ might be appropriate.
