"Clean property. Helpful owners with regards to entry issues. Good value for money when more than 1 person staying"

Good location and value for money

App for front door wouldn’t work. Had to wait an hour for access but property owners very helpful. Bed squeaked every time you moved so kept waking up. Property could do with some TLC

"I will always read the reviews from now on."

1.0

Hosts were easy to contact, and I liked the keyless entry. It has taken me a while to write this, I do not like leaving bad reviews. However, I feel that there are things in this property that need some serious attention. Our stay was 4th-10th July 2024. But Read Previous Reviews!

Where to start... ALWAYS READ REVIEWS! Parking - There isn't any, it is a car park at the other end of the street, and it would be nice to be able to buy or be given parking permits for the property. On arrival, it looks fine. The main living room looks like the pictures, but that is where it stops. Far too many room air fresheners are used in this house and I think I know why! Main living/dining room - luckily, there were only the two of us as only 3 chairs for the dining table and the sofa seats 2 comfortably, 3 at a squeeze. A glass top table isn't the most family-friendly item of furniture either. I had a bit of a 'giggle' at all the different lengths of net curtains, just showing the attention to detail isn't high on the list for the hosts. The downstairs light switches confused me as the furthest switch (closest to the front door did the upstairs lighting) Stair bannister/spindle STILL missing! As seen/read about on previous reviews. Kitchen - No freezer! Not enough crockery nor cutlery, no chopping boards or baking trays, no kitchen knives, no tea towels, the list is endless, I feel this room was also missed with the cleaning, half a melon in the fridge, cups weren't clean and work surfaces felt sticky and grubby. Microwave hadn't been cleaned either. DIY bodge jobs aplenty in the kitchen. I don't think any of the cupboard doors shut properly, and there were 3 different types of flooring, not to mention the loose and broken floor tiles. I can't comment too much on the electrics as I guess I wasn't meant to see that! (Looked up from cooker hood) Garden - great size if it was cleared from the rubbish left. Old bits of wood, cigarette butts. Bathroom - was okay ish, water pressure was awful, loo didn't flush well either. Blinds were broken. The shower head is not very secure. Front bedroom - felt like I was going to fall through the floorboards...

"Very Rough Neighbourhood. Needs full renovation. Avoid."

2.0

Close to ferry port for early morning ferry Bottles of water provided It was clean but so scruffy still felt dirty Hosts communicated well before the stay

No parking, told to park down the road in a car park that looked far from appealing. Was worried as had all our cases for holiday in and this would have taken so long to unpack. Messaged hosts to ask about alternative but got no response. Ended up parking at the premier inn and walking. The neighbourhood is like something from “shameless” and we had some drunks singing karaoke until the early hours. Didn’t feel safe. Definitely would not stay here again. Reminded me of a house off “homes under the hammer” which needed a complete renovation. Not good at all!!!

Parking was a nightmare. The overflow car park was just filled with commercial trucks. With separate groups of kids hanging around the cars

Great spacious property. Far more comfortable than a hotel room at a fraction of the cost. Location is great and easy to get to.

Cleanliness wasn't the best. Found some old melon in the fridge which was missed on cleaning. Bedroom curtains were too thin so it was very bright in the morning. Sofa was on the small side. Only seats two.
