"Glad we stayed there - good location for getting off the ferry and quiet neighbourhood."

8.0

Lovely cosy sheets on the large double bed! Interesting decor.

Cold, uncarpeted floor in main room. Maybe OK in the summer or for people who wear their shoes indoors (bringing in all the outdoor dirt...). Had a problem with the door code in that we weren't told we had just a few seconds to turn the door knob. That was rather essential information that wasn't made known. We got in only because as a last resort we tried doing it very quickly instead of waiting for the green circle of light to complete.

"Would definitely it recommend for families."

2.0

Had to chase the owners for the information to access the property and then had to ask them to bring the cot that I had previously requested, which they did and were very friendly, they did apologise and say they had a difficult group in before us that had left the house in a state. There was very little parking outside the property so had to bring the luggage from a fair way up the road the free car park at the end of the road was full. The property itself was scruffy and dirty, the garden had rubbish and cigarette ends in and there were empty beer bottles dotted around the house. There was a blood streaked glob of snot on the shower curtain, dirty marks and dust around the house. The kitchen didn’t have much in the way of cutlery and crockery.

"Enjoyable break."

8.0

Good base for adult and teenager visiting family in close vicinity. Close to public transport. Comfortable and relaxing. The coffee/tea and shower gel/shampoo were an unexpected, but very welcome bonus.

Some instructions for appliances and local information (bus stops/numbers, chemist, bin contents etc) would be useful. The non-contact access was fine but might be useful to provide guidance about the process in advance, some guests may not have the knowledge/means to download information while travelling.

"Avoid at all costs!"

1.0

Not much, the flooring in the lounge.

The heating didn’t work, the property is not finished (missing skirting boards, hanging cables everywhere) and they don’t even bother with providing enough plates and cups for the everyone staying there. We ended up not only cold but also could eat dinner together properly.

"Lovely house, and well stocked with everything you need, very helpful owners but slightly disappointed with the heating"

7.0

Very spacious, modern and cosy house. Decorated beautifully throughout and bonus of a nice sized garden. The house is well stocked with toilet paper, shower gel, a hair dryer and tea and coffee which is very beneficial too.

The garden fence on one side was completely down so lack of privacy outside and the heating and hot water are controlled by the owner of the house, which was quite unpractical and made for a cold evening until we decided to text them to ask how we turned it all on. Electrics went off in the night which was annoying, however the owner drove down to fix it in the morning which was very helpful and good of them to do.

"NOT family friendly- awful!"

1.0

We were deeply unsatisfied with our recent stay at this property. On the morning of the day we were due to check in, we received an email saying we could park outside the property for a max of 3 hours and parking was situated in a car park at the other end of the street. In my opinion, this does not count as a property with parking (which we paid a higher price on booking.com for) when I queried this with the owner, I was told I had been scammed. We were also told in the email that details of the secure lock would be sent shortly. These were not sent until I called them at 5:30 (2 and a half hours after check in) when they were sent, I was sent an expired code so I had to call again to sort it out. When we arrived at the property, there was no onstreet parking available at all to unload so we had to park in the car park and walk with our luggage and two children. When we got into the property (which we booked with a cot) there was no cot. Once again, I had to call them to come round and set up the cot. Despite the fact that this property is called a retreat, I was awake until 2pm because the noise from next door was so loud that I could not sleep. The walls were paper thin. I could hear every word of their conversations. It was also billed as family and toddler friendly. There were so many hazards including a glass topped table, where the glass top came loose from the base. A missing bannister, exposed wires and very uneven flooring. In my opinion, this is not acceptable.

"Mediocre."

6.0

Spacious

The place didn't feel well maintained, there was for example a large amount of trash under the bed (beer bottles, snack wrappers etc.). With regards to the location (far from the center in a rather rundown neighbourhood) the price was too high. The host didn't check in to see if everything was okay either.
