The cleanliness and the staff

Not enough variety of food and the wifi connection is terrible.

An absolutely wonderful team! They didn’t just show us beautiful locations; they were incredibly attentive to our dietary needs and made sure we truly enjoyed every moment. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was special and memorable.

The staff and the hospitality on Amanda cruise is excellent. We had like a personal attendant for our 2.5 year old toddler, her name was Ruby. She did a great job on the entire cruise while attending us. The food is good. We booked for 2N3D and were upgraded to presidential suite for the second night. A must visit when you come to Vietnam

There is no free water for drinking during the meals. Only little selection of fruits and seafood.

Our cruise director Dan and his staff really were great. They were enthusiastic and gave well-intentioned service. The activities were pretty standard - and having already participated in two other Ha Long Bay cruises, I have something to compare. Food was also average but it’s worth noting that they accommodated for a variety of dietary restrictions - so I really appreciated that.

You may read a lot of glowing reviews here or on TripAdvisor but some of these may have been written under duress. :) As is typical, the wait staff shared a QR code for TA reviews during our brunch on the way back to port but then they proceeded to watch over as people completed their reviews. When guests indicated some negative experience they would give the guest a hard time about it. That’s simply unprofessional. I took the link and told them that I would write my review later. Speaking of unprofessional, there was some sort of issue with our booking and the way it was handled was simply unacceptable. I had booked two junior suites and was told by William who handled all pre-departure communication that the room was double booked on the second night so he suggested we upgrade to a different boat for the second night. Perhaps this would have been okay if I learned about it a week or even a few days before departure but he wrote this message literally minutes from when we arrived at port for check-in. We declined to switch boats so we were downgraded for the second night and given a small refund for the price difference plus refunded transport and a few free drinks on board. Perhaps that sounds like a good solution but when you’re excited about your cruise on Ha Long Bay the best welcome is not bad news! The cruise is advertised here on Booking.com as five-star and it simply is nothing close. As a matter of fact, the “official” rating by the Vietnam rating body is two stars (see photo attached). The way this is advertised on Booking.com is wrong and as such the website should probably delist them for misrepresentation. Finally, my name is Jeffrey - not Maria. From the first WhatsApp message from William though boarding the transport back to Hanoi, everything about our booking referred to another guest named Maria. It’s a small thing but maybe if you can fix small mistakes like this, bigger ones like overbooking your boat won’t happen in the future.
