New Cormorant Lake Resort & Yala Safari Place

The place is located in front of the lake which is a a great location especially for nature enthusiast. Everything was perfect, and excellent service, I loved being there. I was also taken to an evening tour around the lakes which was a great experience! I also recommend you to walk around the lakes during the day as there are plenty of animals to see. Highly recommend this place!

New Cormorant Lake Resort provided an excellent experience from start to finish. The host graciously guided us around the lake at no extra cost, sharing his extensive knowledge about the local animals and plants. He was incredibly friendly and helpful, even welcoming us with a drink upon arrival. The room was clean, nice, simple, and comfortable, providing just what we needed for a relaxing stay. The surroundings of the resort are beautiful and bring you close to nature. I highly recommend New Cormorant Lake Resort for anyone seeking a good accommodation close to Yala National Park.

Excellent stay- the owner went above and beyond. He picked us up and dropped us at the bus stop, took us on a trip around the lake, made us breakfast & dinner, arranged a safari and shared local knowledge. The facilities are homely and comfortable, and whilst the bathroom needs an upgrade at some point it met our needs. Outstanding value for money

Recommend this accommodation if your looking for a chill spot to stay near Yala Park. The host was super friendly and helpful. I organised my safari through this accommodation and it was great :)

Gayan is the best host we had so far in our 2 weeks trip in Sri Lanka. It was really nice to talk with him, he shared a lot of interesting information about the life in Sri Lanka, about nature and animals and also his life. He welcomed us with a fresh papaya juice collected from his garden. He took us for a welcoming trip around the lake with other guests staying in his place and made it easy for everybody to socialize. He knows animals in his area very well. He organized free of charge tuk tuk to atm, restaurant and to buy cheaper cigarettes. It’s very easy to book safari with him for a good price. He offered himself he will pick us up to a bus station where we can get seats in a bus. And all of that included and not expected to pay more than the price from booking. This guy is a very good human being and deserves more than a good tip!

The host was amazing! He got me picked up in the tuktuk when I arrived on the bus, took me on a local lake tour on my first evening and even offered to drop me at a restaurant for dinner & come back for me later! As well as dropping me back to the bus station when I left! Hospitality 10/10!!

If you want to be close to more restaurants it’s a bit further away. The room is basic but fine! I didn’t pay for the AC room and didn’t anticipate how warm it would be compared to the north of Sri Lanka! The bathroom could also be renovated at some point.

We stayed here for one night and had a very positive experience. The staff was very helpful and assisted us in booking a safari, which went smoothly and viela WhatsApp. Since the safari ended after our check-in, we were able to stay a bit longer, and they even offered us a room to freshen up, which was greatly appreciated. Free parking was another plus. The room was comfortable and perfect for a short stay. Overall, I highly recommend this accommodation, and I was a great quality/price.

Very well situated with great host who make sure your stay will be amazing. He can manage your safari tour so you dont have to take care about anything. He will even take your for sunset ride around the lake to explore and see animals. Highly recomend this place!

Everything, especially the owner😊Really nice person, who drives us around the lake and showed some animals and birds! He also brought us to the bus station! Thank u very much! +there are a restaurant and we took dinner there.
