Chapel Cottage with Log Burner (Dog Friendly)

Brilliant location, very clean & very cosy. Right in the centre is Hawes. Both bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. Parking is perfect, although tight (but my discovery sport squeezed in ok)

Worth knowing that the property is set over 3 floors. The first bedroom & bathroom is on the 2nd floor. The second bedroom is on the 3rd floor - kind of in the attic, but with a carpeted flight of stairs…the negative here is that the 2nd bedroom doesn’t have a door on it, so you can hear what’s going on downstairs & if you have a dog there’s no way to stop them going upstairs! But I’d def go back to this cottage - loved it!

A hand rail for the staircases would be useful as the stairs are so steep (in keeping with the property) and a couple of coat hooks near the door would be helpful.

Not enough kindling/paper to start log burner on 2nd night. A fire lighter would have helped. The bathroom hot tap needs tightening it moves.

This is a gorgeous cottage in Hawes which is tastefully decorated with beautiful furnishings. Clear attention to detail has gone into the solid wood furniture and the great quality linens and towels. The log fire is fab and we had enough wood provided for two evenings for a fire which was really comforting and homely. The kitchen is small but well equipped and again had lovely fixtures like the big farm house style sink. The best feature for me was the master bedroom which is sizeable but so unusual under the beams of the house. It’s in a great spot in the centre near to some lovely cafes and pubs.

We didn’t dislike anything. Suggestions (as it’s clearly a new property and suggestions in the guest book have all been responded to quickly): 1. A draining rack would help when washing up in a small space 2. Coat hooks inside the front door would be useful To be aware: 1. The car parking space is small, and a tight turn. I just about got my Audi A3 in but had to reverse out to open the door to put my baby in the car. If your car is bigger, I’d park nearby in the village. 2. The hot water is very hot. The hot tap in the bathroom remains hot so I had to wrap a towel around it (even when not running) before my baby could use the sink as it was so hot.

Country cottage, beautiful property to stay in . Loved having the log burner on while seeing in the new year 🙏🏻👌

Kitchen is small but serves its purpose, everything else is perfect.

Excellent location in centre of Hawes. Cottage has recently been updated to a high standard, clean and cosy, we had a lovely stay and plan to return.
