Ye Olde Crown Hotel

Nice bathroom.

The description of the hotel says no parties, but me, my partner and 2 children were kept awake until 3.30 by a group of people listening to and singing along with loud music and having a party. We had virtually no sleep whatsoever which in turn ruined our 2nd day in alton towers as the children were too tired to stay. There is no management on site after 10pm so nothing could be done.

Location was great as we stayed for Alton Towers visit. Rooms were clean, spacious and plenty of storage. Beds were comfy and even had tea and coffee in room. Overall a pleasant stay but wouldn't be great for people who like an early night.

The noise from pub below went on until at least 11.30pm and was very loud. The kettle in one of the rooms was broken. The bathroom door handle also fell off and had multiple previous repairs so obviously a recurring problem.

Easy to find and very clear instructions to enter the property. Comfortable and quiet place to stay

Not a fault of the hotel but there are limited places for food nearby - took us a few tries to find anywhere that served lunch. Recommend the Cottage Kitchen cafe that is a few mins drive away. Bathroom door was on runners which kept coming loose.

Spotlessly clean . Comfy bed

door code instructions, not very clear. People should be told that you have to put your FULL hand palm on the lock to bring up the key pad .

- Pub with eerie/creepy atmosphere from customers. We wanted to have a drink when we arrived but felt too much like outsiders, and it was very cramped in a small space with one large group of people. - Narrow corridor and steep stairs made it difficult to get to our room with our big bags.

Pub had become quiet at my bedtime. Good beer and atmosphere in the attached pub.

Email with codes arrived a day late! Had to phone to get the codes. Local chippy was closed. Attached pub not serving food.
