Canalside B and B

Breakfast was amazing, probably one of the best fry ups I have had in a while. Egg was cooked perfectly (which I can be particular about) plus a huge selection of other breakfast teams if you didn’t fancy the fry up. Room was ideal for what I needed with an exceptionally comfortable and large bed. Gail the host was beyond accommodating. Thank you.

Lovely, peaceful location by the canal. Well equipped rooms with tea/coffee making facilities, biscuits on arrival. Full use of the bathroom, with everything you need, so if you forget any toiletries, you don't need to worry.

Lovely room with radiator, but mine either didn't work, or the heating just didn't come on. Or maybe heating is scheduled to come on when it drops below a certain temperature, but it was a little too cold for me (or maybe I'm just nesh), but I ended up wearing my coat and gloves in the room until bedtime. The TV wasn't tuned in and I didn't want to mess with it, so I'm glad I took my Kindle with me.

Situated in a very quiet village (the pub of which doesn't do food on a Thursday, and there is nowhere else local that does), the host was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The rooms were immaculately clean, as were the shared bathroom(s). The breakfast was freshly cooked and superb - more than enough to last well past lunchtime!

I'd say the price was reasonable but at a level I would have expected en suites, though it's hard to judge nowadays as the costs of accommodation have rocketed since the pandemic (in my experience).

The location great Gail, the host/owner could not do enough for us. Lovely lady. Very clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast. Very pretty location right on the canal.

We'd prefer our own bathroom but the shared facilities were clean and always available

Hostess exceptionally helpful and friendly. Fabulous breakfast.
