Matelas beaucoup trop mou, mal au dos le lendemain ! Café pas très bon.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! This place is more like a bed and breakfast - we had breakfast included which was a nice European breakfast (yogurt, frittata and croissant). The biggest challenge was getting to the location within the 15 minute window for unloading/loading in the ZTL (zone of limited traffic). If you packed suitcases, I suggest dipping them near the plaza area instead of in front of the hotel entrance. Parking at the Citadel lot was very easy - 10 minute walk from hotel. The hotel does have an elevator which was great! Location within Lucca is perfect as it’s in the city center. Plenty of shops and restaurants within a few minute radius.

I liked the decor and the colour scheme. It all added to the atmosphere.

It took us a while to find out where the hotel reception was. A clearer notice that it was on the third floor would have been helpful. The car parking was a long way away and again it took us a while after a long drive to find the hotel.

Staff is excellent, helpful, friendly and professional. Our suite was beautiful and ample in size. The large public room was lovely. Excellent, central location. Has a lift.

The website mentions that the property has air conditioning; however, due to laws in Italy, this apparently cannot be turned on until June. We were there during a May heatwave, with temperatures at 90 degrees Fahrenheit. To be fair, the ladies could not have tried any harder to be accommodating: they managed to find a fan for us. While we sincerely appreciated this, it did little to make sleeping more comfortable. Breakfast - a Continental - was quite mixed: we were given yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee and croissants. However, the coffee was the weakest I've ever tasted - it was more like hot milk; and the croissants were doughy - poor quality.

I feel like I've lived out a modern Bridgerton fantasy. There is no experience like taking a bath under a fresco painted ceiling having a glass of wine watching the sunset over the tower listening to the street musicians play and hearing thr birds fly in circles outside of the window. I felt like a princess. Having the staff bring breakfast to our personal table gave us even more royalty vibes. 🤴👑👸

My husband said it was a bit loud and the hotel provides earplugs that he did not use. That weekend there was a lot happening, so I imagine in summer without A/C it could feel less like royalty and more uncomfortable.

Its central location and access to station . Staff were welcoming

There was no air conditioning or a fan . The area at night was noisy with drunken travellers well past midnight . The hotel staff must be aware of this because they provided ear plugs in the room
