The Old Coop Barn

What an amazing little gem, we had a lovely two day break away with our little staffie, we wished we had booked to stay longer. The accommodation had everything you could think of, it was like home from home. It was clean, cosy and very relaxing. The hostess is very welcoming and accommodating, offering tea, coffee and many extras like milk in the fridge. The bed was comfy and the bedding smelt fresh and clean. We loved the rolled top bath, perfect for relaxing after walking all day. The location is excellent offering lots of walks. There is a fantastic local pub, called The old gate, the food was delicious with stunning views in the garden and friendly staff. We will definitely return and stay longer next time.

Amazing in every way

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. The Old Co Op barn is mesmerising; from its renovation, style and attention to detail to the "little touches" such as tea, coffee supplied and milk in the fridge on arrival. Every need is catered for; its comfort, warmth and practicality is second to none. Lucy is an exceptional host who should be rightly proud of the service offered. Like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way!

The fact we couldn't stay longer.

Loved how cosy & beautiful the barn was. Every little detail was thought out & Lucy even left some little books out & teddies for our girls. The little bunny’s next door was a big hit too!

Such a charming and homely property which has been well thought through and has everything you would need for a short break away. Lovely walks right from the doorstep and two friendly and welcoming pubs in the village. Great base to explore the local area and places like Harboro Rocks, Carsington, Cromford, Wirksworth and Matlock Bath

The barn was really easy to find and the directions were spot on. It was lovely and warm when we got there. It was really clean and had everything we needed for a cosy stay. The beds were really comfortable and surroundings were really peaceful. We had a great time and would highly recommend!

The Old Coop Barn is a beautiful cottage. The decor is so well thought out, with great attention to detail! We loved the log burner and bath in particular. It's a lovely location for a rural break, with two pubs in the village and lots to see and do nearby. Lucy was a great host with excellent communication! We will visit again!

Nothing! Just a tip, bring slippers/thick socks as the floor downstairs is cold. Lucy does suggest this in her booking information.

Lovely cottage in quiet village within reasonable driving distance of places to visit. Nice extra touches for children visiting. Very clean.

We loved our stay here, one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in. Very unique, quaint and rustic. Had everything we needed to cook, lovely log fire and hot bath which was great after each day’s hike! There are two local pubs in the village - the old gate inn is good for food. We would love to come back in future!

We had the most magical stay here in October! It was perfect for myself, partner, baby and two dogs. Beautiful place and town!
