"Very pleasant stay for a family"

10.0

The most hospitable staff I’ve ever met! After the initial confusion with the bed count, they added the missing bed and even offered a presidential suite. Also, they were giving us a lot of bottles of water, even though they were not included in our plan. On the last day, they even gifted our children cute teddy bears. Other than that, the hotel itself is beautiful and clean. Many wild animals walk around. There is a pond with hippos right on the hotel territory.

"So far the best stay in Kenya"

Marvelous experience! The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the location within the National Park allowed us to encounter plenty of wildlife right at our doorstep. The food was excellent, and we would definitely love to return!

Having more closets would be a great addition

"One of the best locations in Mara"

7.0

I’ve been to Keekorok twice — it’s not my favorite as I prefer the tented camps but the location and value for money make up for it. Lions are always by far and the drive from the gate is easy. People love being able to see hippos at any time. Rooms are small but clean and comfy beds. We had a picky eater in our group and it was so nice that they made him special meals.

Food very much caters to Indian travelers — would prefer a bit more variety.

"Disappointing"

1.0

I stayed here in 2019 and has changed hands since then it has really gone down. The hippo lake, which is on the property smelled like a rancid sewer that smell permeated into the room. We were staying in all around the outdoor area and into the hotel. The hotel was only using rooms on one side and there were very few people there. I’m not sure why they had all the rooms on the side where you could smell the hippo lake when I was there in 2019 you could not smell that something needs to be done. People should not be subjected to that, especially for the cost of the rooms. I am reaching out to the company that owns the property and asking for a partial refund. additionally the food made me sick. I have been in Kenya nine times and I stayed at this property before as indicated the food was fantastic and I didn’t get sick on any food anywhere else and as soon as I ate one meal there my intestines felt like they were tied in knots and I Got to where I couldn’t eat anything but bread and fruit. Very disappointed in how rundown the facilities were for instance, the lounge chairs on the pool. The covers look like they’ve been there for years and never upgraded. Most of the facility is looking rundown and needs renovation. The water in our room was lukewarm at best we did ask to be moved to another room and we were moved on the other side where we did not have to smell The hippo lake in our room. However, you could still smell it in the hotel lobby area.
