The White Horse, Rogate

Large room was clean as was the bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities as well as bottled water. Sunday lunch was delicious.

Breakfast both days was poor. Couldn't even be described as a continental breakfast. On the first morning, there was a table with boxes of cereal, a few yoghurts, orange juice, and jars of jams and marmalade. Asked about the option of hot breakfast and told they don't do hot breakfast any longer, but toast was available. We ordered toast and were told a few minutes later that they had no bread so popped to the corner shop to get some. Only white toast offered. On the second morning, there wasn't a member of staff in the bar where breakfast was taken. Eventually, after about 5 minutes, a staff member appeared and apologised for the late start. She had been out to get pastries for breakfast. No milk for cereal or fruit juice. Felt her attitude was poor. No housekeeping service to our room, our bed not made or room cleaned.. No extra toilet paper provided or towels changed. Room far too hot and unable to turn radiator down as the radiator valve was broken. We had to keep a window open which was not ideal as our room faced the busy main road.

The White Horse is a really lovely place to stay. The old building is full of character and the rooms are well furnished / spacious. Great espresso machine. Dog friendly and welcoming. Friendly and helpful staff and good food. We plan to stay again.

Really lovely old style pub with comfortable rooms.

Contacted pub weeks ago to request help with taxi booking and had no response.

Super nice service and very nice and clean room. The shower was great, the bed very comfortable and we loved it here.
