RIVER RETREAT- near Holloway U, Thorpe Park and Heathrow airport

A beautiful location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our three children. We received a very warm welcome by the host and the chalet was very clean and had everything we needed. All beds, including sofa bed were extremely comfortable. Plenty of fans provided for a comfortable stay in the summer. Stunning views across the river and we loved watching all the wildlife especially swans.

There is an extra fee for parking per day due to being on a private road, however this would not prevent us from visiting again in the future.

Proximity to the river, the swans and the knowledge share from owner. Very quite and peaceful place

Felt was overpriced overall. Could have done with some clean up of the beautiful windows overlooking the river. Few too many big spiders(which was promptly addressed but unfortunately they came back ). Thought the 7£/day parking charge ( albeit I missed to notice the charge when booking) in a private home was a little too much also given the price ( apparently not allowed to park outside gate)

Beautiful location. If you like greenery, plants or having a river view/view of boats sailing by, you will love this. The property was well kitted out with everything we needed.

It’s not fully private, being at the end of the owner’s garden. I got quite a fright when I got a message on my phone saying we had been followed all round Thorpe Park by an air tag and my phone showed a map of our movements which confirmed this. Turned out it was on our key so our location was being followed at all times.

The location was great, and the host is fantastic, welcoming, and supportive. The place is clean and being in front of the river with nice trees, flowers,and a garden.

If the second room bed was two single beds instead of one queen, that would be better to fit two kids.

Property was outstanding with all amenities you could hope for - beautiful location and lovey hosts.

It would be good to know there was a £7 parking charge per car per day (we had three cars). That felt disappointing at the last minute. Also it would be good to know to communicate through booking.com not calls and WhatsApp as we were unsure what was a scam or not particularly as booking.com advised to us there had been an increased number of unsolicited comms through WhatsApp.

Beautiful location with incredible views and everything you need inside the room. Amazing to sit outside to enjoy the peace of the Thames and the lovely swans who pop by to say hello. Beds was comfy and linen fresh and towels also provided. Host was very friendly. Super convenient to Thorpe park. Literally 8 mins up the road.

There is a horrendous smell coming up from the sink. Which host warned about and provided liquid to run down the sink. But the smell was disgusting first thing in the morning when you walk out the bedroom. And when returning after day out. The tap in the kitchen is very difficult to switch off. And the fans provided (was very warm days) are broken. The radiator in the second bedroom was hanging off the wall. Parking is on the owners grounds and he charges 7 pound per night cash as an extra. When really there is no where else that you can park. And its park off the house grounds so seems very strange!!

We loved the location of the chalet and being able to sit outside by the river. We loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts. They kindly cooked a delicious Indian meal for us at short notice and told us a lot about the location. The location was truly unique.

It was all good.
