Modern Condo 2 Blocks From Quarters

The location was perfect for this trip. Plus my father lived in 7th Ward when I was younger so it felt like home in an odd way.

No bathtub it was only a shower and the hot water was in and out.

The rate was amazing

Couches were hard as a rock. The bed felt old. There were holes in the walls of the fireplace and the bathroom door. Needs a full length mirror for guests to dress for events.

That the door combination was a great touch.

Cable not working internet not strong towels not cleaned holes in the walls no handles on refrigerator water leaking from window when it rained. Over charged for stay.

There was no breakfast

The small heater did not warm up the apartment. It took until the last day figure out the hot and cold water valves were opposite, cold on left and hot on right

The location was good. Close to the Quarter.

The property was not as the pictures show. This is not a 1 bedroom. There is no bedroom. There’s a bed by the front door in the living room. The entire place was full of dust. Dust everywhere. So much that I ended up getting sick from breathing it in. The fireplace was falling apart brick by brick, literally. There were holes on either side. There was a pile of broken bricks and dirty in the fireplace. The wood floors were scratched and were missing pieces and chunks. If you didn’t wear shoes all the time, you may get a splinter. The baseboards need caulking. The entire place needs repairs. There was a bathtub in the back yard. The walls were thin, you could hear every movement and conversation from the adjacent apartment and the apartment upstairs. The bathroom door had a hole in it as if it had been punched. The shower curtain didn’t fit the shower and was filthy with soap scrum and hard water marks. There was only a half of a roll of toilet paper, no second roll for a 2 night stay, for 2 people. Only 2 mismatched towels and washcloths. No kitchen towel or washcloth. No iron. The bed was very loud. If you moved it creaked constantly. Pillows and bedding were old and rough. The entire place was super bright, all day all night. There were thin off white dirty shades on the windows. Didn’t block and light at all. The street lights were bright all night. There was no way to sleep in. The sun was blinding. It was a horrible experience.

I liked the old wooden house and its southern charm

No hot water ! That is about as fundamental as it gets in the hospitality business. The table made of a logistics palette is original but there are rusty nails sticky through it and you can get splinters in your legs sitting on the high stools. They would be nice for a bar but not comfortable for a dining table. No remote work possible on that. Your back would die.
