The property is absolutely beautiful and the cozy aesthetics are capable of making you feel like home away from home. The amount of attention paid to every detail in designing the interiors to curate just the right experience for the guests is impressive. It is very clean and full of culture. Soumik is a very caring host. He is proactive and looking forward to get to know his guests which is what makes you feel like you are just visiting a family member who is far away from home. He is passionate to provide the best experience for his guests which is reflected in the unflinching effort the family is putting into restoring the property.

Everything. The place is incredibly cozy and perfect for having a peaceful rest, but also conveniently located making it easy to get to other parts of the city. Soumik, the host, goes way out his way to make you feel at home. His family is also incredibly nice, as is their beautiful and playful dog. We had a very late flight the day we had to leave and Soumik offered us a space to spend the evening comfortably, and we even ended up getting an impromptu cooking class with him on how to make curry. Our stay couldn’t have gone any better. 100% recommended.

Great convenient location, clean and offering all the comforts of home. The hosts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful family-run boutique hotel in a building handed down from grandparents. They are gradually renovating new rooms and from what I saw, each suite is unique with some antique and bespoke furniture. The kids and the family dog are a delight. I hadn't been to Calcutta for 30 years and had planned my visit to be short due to my memories from back then. This was a mistake. After staying here I wish I had another week in this revitalised city.

It's a bit hard to find, but the proprietors know this and arrange to meet at a prominent local point 100m or so away.

First and foremost, the hosts...... extremely nice people, went out of their way to make us feel comfy. Also great gesture in allowing me to check out and leave their premises without paying..... I was in a rush and the host was tied up with some other work..... so he asked me to carry on and pay later. Secondly the room was neat and cozy, perfect for a reunion of school friends..... the interiors speak of good taste :) .

the location, the noisy shoe market just outside the premises through which we had to get in. But I am being too picky here ...

This is a perfect homestay for anyone visiting Kolkata. Although our stay was brief, we truly appreciated the property, which offers all the essential facilities you'd expect from a good homestay. Soumik and his family were very welcoming and ensured our stay was comfortable. Soumik stayed in touch with us from the time we landed in Kolkata, helping us find directions and reach the place without any hassle. He personally received us and made sure our check-in was smooth, which was very kind of him. Caretaker Robin bhaiya, was also very helpful. Overall, it's a great experience and would highly recommend.

The place is charming, clean and well appointed. Most of all is hospitality and helpfulness of the host and his wife. This has been an unforgettable experience and am truly thankful to have had the opportunity to stay here.

Whilst it is secluded, the 'call to prayer' from the nearby mosque can be distracting at times

This place really reflects the charm and colorful sophistication of Kolkata as I experienced it. Soumik really has an attention to detail, both aesthetically and hospitality wise. From the beautiful paintings that adorn the wall, the carefully curated furniture, to the copper water vessel and yes and especially, the squeegee in the bathroom! I only discovered this gem as I was leaving Kolkata, but easily would have made it my hq as I worked in and explored the city. I dare say I felt like a Bengali intellectual staying at this place, much better than staying in some faceless hotel!

Special shout out of thanks to Soumik, since I left my favourite shirt at his property when trying to catch an early train; he kindly forwarded it to my next hotel in Delhi, a sign of the care and attention he provides as host!
