Lake District Woodland Pods - Winster, Bowness-on-Windermere

The property was spacious , clean , well set out and reasonably priced , had a pub nearby and was comfortable

During our stay it was far to hot and the facilities to cool the pod were mediocre , no more than a small fan which just blew warm air around , a suggestion would be to apply air conditioning inside the pods as ours was at 33° room temperature during our whole stay

The sheets were extremely dirty, and the sink tap was loose. There were no extra bin bags available. I went to reception twice, but no one was there, so I had to go to the restaurant to speak to the staff, whose attitude was unacceptable. There wasn’t even a coffee machine. We were fortunate to have brought our own bedding, because otherwise it would have been disgusting to sleep in a bed with such dirty sheets. The mattress was far too soft and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The bedding was never changed, and I found pet hair on the sheets and even a dish sponge left in the sink. The room was excessively bright at night during the summer because there were no blinds, making it very difficult to sleep. To make matters worse, when checking out, we were asked to clean and tidy the accommodation ourselves, as if we hadn’t already paid enough for the cleaning service.

Nothing at all. A bit out of the way if you want to be in the centre of things. But it was tranquil which is what we like.
