The Old Shop

Great location and the room was great! Hadn’t gotten any information about how to access the room so had to call and the person I talked to was so helpful!

Very leaky shower. Flooded the bathroom near the sink every time we had a shower.

Portree doesn’t have a lot of accommodation so it is important to book early and to know that it will be expensive. Location of the Old Shop is nice in that it is central and looks out to the water but there is a trade off - see dislikes. It is a spacious bright room, big shower stall, good water pressure, bedding and towels with hairdryer. Ample room for suitcases.

No Google Maps pin (try the Pink House). Tourists are constantly walking in front of the windows, taking pictures of the pink building. Anti-visibility film on windows helps privacy but not completely. Some noise at night. Limited street parking. Toilet slowly leaks at bottom against floor, some mold / dirt on wall outside shower. Bathroom would benefit from at least one small shelf to put toiletries.

Location is central in Portree, comfortable bed, easy access.

There is no refrigerator and the wifi is public with weak security.

So close to the footpath….everyone was taking selfies at the ‘pink house’. Minimal privacy. Very noisy even at night. No parking facilities

Loved the location & ease of check in. The room was spacious.

The bed was hard. The bathroom is bare bones, absolutely no where to put your toiletries near the sink or in the shower.

Great location if you want to be close to the pubs & food - it’s the iconic pink house! Beds were fine, shower had good pressure, and the check in was very easy and straightforward

Not that we didn’t like it BUT it’s loud since it’s near the pubs and there’s lots of tourists that take photos outside your room. That didn’t really bother us since we stayed out late too and were only there for a night. If you go to bed early and like privacy this isn’t the place for you. Would say it’s way over priced for what you get but I think it’s the iconic location for what you pay for. Also didn’t realize the VAT charges weren’t shown in initial price (that’s on us, but just a heads up to check)
