The Cheese Room, self-contained cosy retreat in the Quantock Hills

It was a beautiful peaceful location. Everything at the Cheese room was thoughtfully planned and catered for, A real gem, extremely comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean and everything you could want including your own private garden area . We loved it.

Comfort and originality Attention to detail

Peaceful, quiet. Great surroundings. Comfy. Clean. Good location to enjoy quantocks. Nicely decorated and furnished rooms. Host was very nice and friendly.

Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations in every respect. Excellent arrival instructions/directions and lovely warm welcome by Stu and the chickens. The accommodation was much more substantial than we expected - truly spectacular. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and beautifully styled and furnished. Stu definitely has an eye for interior design. The bed was huge and very inviting, with immaculate top quality linen and super-light but warm duvet. We slept sooo well. Loved the comfy sofa and spacious dining table overlooking the garden through 2 huge windows. Everything we could have wanted or needed was provided - Teas, coffees, cafetiere, hot chocolate, fresh milk, fruit juice and fresh fruit bowl, shower gel/shampoo/ flannels - oh and a beautiful vase of flowers. The modern, tastefully fitted bathroom was huge with the biggest shower cubicle you could ever want and with excellent shower pressure. The underfloor heating was a welcome bonus. Breakfast was an absolutely tasty feast and was all beautifully presented - fresh milk, yoghurt, butter and fruit juice in the fridge, a fresh tasty loaf in the bread bin and an assortment of cereals in the cupboard. Added to which the Cheese Room mice left us freshly baked, warm and crispy croissants and danish pastries, more milk and juice on ice, and assorted jams and marmalade downstairs each morning. There is a toaster and microwave provided as well as an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. The welcome pack was very helpful for the accommodation facilities and local information. We felt very welcome and very spoiled. We were sad to leave but hope we can return for a longer stay.

Having to leave 😢

We were greeted by our host when we arrived and found him very friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, we really enjoyed it, especially the croissants! The bed was so comfy and everything was spotless. The extra little touches, like biscuits, flowers, the welcoming notes etc made everything extra special. The location was peaceful and not far from lovely walks.

The only thing we thought would be nice would to be to have big bath towels

The owner was very accomodating and friendly. Offering breakfast as we needed.
