La Torretta - Authentic Historic House with Panoramic Sea-View Terrace in Otranto Old Town - Marea Stays Collection

Excellent location in the centre of old town, very friendly and helpful staff, rooftop terrace, very clean

Three stories was a bit tricky with kids (we knew this). The apartment was not as well equipped as several other ones we stayed at on the same trip. Also the rooftop terrace would be much better with updated furniture and some shade.

Great location. Rooftop was nice however no shade and could not use during the day in the hot sun.

There was a heat wave. The Power kept going out and we would have to reset the fuses. We could not run all the AC units at once. All the rooms are separated on different floors. Not great for families with small kids. The wifi only really works on the second floor. Also had an unpleasant visit from 2 cockroaches in the kitchen during our first night, before we had any food out.

Amazing location right in the heart of Otranto pedestrian area. The AC was very cold which we needed for the hot weather. Anita who met us at the parking lot was helpful and it was good to have a place to park the car not too far from the center.

We found the photos on the listing to be misleading, the view from the rooftop was mostly blocked by buildings with a small view of the sea, and the house is split on 4 floors so each room is separate from the rest which was not convenient or comfortable. We were recommended to place our luggage in the bottom floor to avoid the stairs, but the bedroom is on the top floor. The loungers on the roof were destroyed when we arrived, the host provided new chairs the next day (not recliners). The roof is not private since the property next door also managed by Marea has roof access, and there are some plants in between but the neighbors can clearly see each other if both are using the roof top at the same time (which happened both times we accessed the roof). The WiFi and cell service in the house are very poor, WiFi only works well on one floor of the house where the router is located. We expected more from the photos and asked for a discount but did not receive one. In the end we left 1 night early to have our last night in Italy be more special and comfortable.

The place was very spacious and had a spectacular view. Location was great and the staff were helpful!

The furniture on the terrace looks amazing in the pictures but everything was actually broken and sun worn so you could sit on many of the chairs.

We were met by Anita who was very welcoming. The property is very interesting set over 3 floors and a lovely roof terrace on top. We also used the balcony with a great view over a little square and church, which was charming. Although we ate out in lovely Otranto there were facilities to self cater. The location is fantastic right in the heart of the historic old town and some nice beaches very close by. Highly recommended.

Nothing the stairs kept us fit!

The location was perfect for ease exploring the village, access to restaurants, shops, amazing rooftop views. Very spacious and comfortable.

The property is impressive and unique.

There were ants everywhere- we weren’t told anything about the garbage system. We didn’t have power on the last night- we weren’t able to shower, charge any devices and barely slept that night because we weren’t freezing. The staff was supposed to leave a lockbox upon arrival- this wasn’t done which resulted in us waiting for nearly 40 minutes with a baby outside of the unit. This was after an 8 hour drive. No accountability was taken. The wifi didn’t work throughout the house. No a huge deal though.

Loved being there in late March as it felt like I had the entire area to myself. So quiet. Rooftop deck was the selling point for me: view of sea and castle. Owners were helpful and answered questions promptly. Comfy bed—I slept great.

Unique and spacious accommodation in a historic building in a lovely Old Town neighbourhood. Great terrace views over the harbour.
