For the price, the rooms were very dated and in need of some attention. The bathroom was very small and not particularly clean. Convenience wins but I wouldn’t choose to stay again.
GBThe exterior gives off a very different vibe than the interior, but the location must play havoc with trying to keep the exterior looking amazing. The pub is lovely. Good drinks and the staff are brilliant. The room we had was also as nice as pub. Spacious, clean and really nicely decorated. Yes there were areas where a bit of a touch up was needed but that’s just ongoing maintenance and happens when time allows.

USThe White Lion offered us a nice spot to rest while hiking the Coast to Coast path. The rooms were tiny, but since it is a historical building, that goes with the territory. Dinner in the pub downstairs was hearty, and the location was good for hikers - and also a 1 min walk from a bus station that connected us with Glenridding, Pooley Bridge, and Penrith.
Rooms were small, but otherwise all good.

Very small room and a cramped shower. This was the least attractive and functional room on our trip, but cost the most. This is basic supply and demand, but if you are going to charge walkers top dollar, then please provide a drying room too, as we set off with still-wet boots and clothing
DEAllenfalls, dass die Heizung um 22 Uhr doch noch warm wurde. Der junge Mann, der am Morgen das Frühstück gemacht hat, war sehr freundlich und bemüht.
Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist völlig unpassend. Die Lage am c2c so auszunutzen ist sehr ärgerlich. Wir kamen nass an einem kalten Tag im Mai an und auf unseren Hinweis hin, dass es im Zimmer kalt sei und die Heizung nicht anspringe, wurde nur gesagt, es sei eben kalt. Es gab 4 Kleiderbügel und keine Möglichkeit, die nasse Wanderkleidung zu trocknen. Das Bad ist winzig. Nichts zum Aufhängen von Handtüchern oder Kulturtasche. Keine Ablage. Keine Stühle im Zimmer und auch dort keinerlei Ablage. Kein Fön. Für die Hälfte des Preises womöglich ok.
