Moon Light- Sunrise Ella

Het ligt afgelegen in de jungle. De wandeling van ongeveer 750 meter naar de hoofdweg is prachtig, net alsof je door een dierentuin loopt. Daar kun je voor ongeveer 60 roepie pp de bus naar Ella pakken of bv de watervallen pakken. De jonge eigenaar is erg gastvrij. Het eten is goed en we mochten met een geweer op blikjes schieten.

De weg naar locatie is erg stijl.

I had a fantastic experience staying at Moonlight, From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and comfortable the room was. Everything was well-maintained, and the bed was incredibly cozy. The location was perfect, close to all the main attractions yet peaceful enough to relax

Excellent host! Idyllic environment, peace and quiet. The host prepares dinner if needed and is there to help the guest with everything. The breakfast is also fantastic.

It wasn't like that!

A very unique location however difficult to reach. The view is gorgeous. Breakfast was the best we had.

Very chaotic welcome due an emergency made for a first strange first night.

The owner and staff were very friendly and alway willing to help. Very nice to the kids Breakfast is nice, a lot of fruits and nice egg hopper!

The room we were given was full of mold and was dirty. Spiders, dirt, wet bathroom,…. My parents room was a lot better, but they were unable to change our room

We spent two days at Moon Light Sunrise, and it felt way too short. Otree treated us like old friends—we felt so welcome. He invited us to a party with his friends and even drove us in his car without asking for any money. It felt like a deep immersion into their lives, right in the middle of the jungle. The view from our room was truly special—directly into the jungle and facing Ella Rock. While sitting on our terrace we were able to watch monkeys, birds and a lot of other wild animals in the jungle. The chef prepared delicious food, and everyone was incredibly kind. They gave us so many small gifts; we have rarely met people as kind as them before. The beds were comfortable, and with an open window, the temperature was pleasant even without AC. The property is very large and beautiful—the perfect place to relax and unwind. Getting to Ella was easy, just a 20-minute ride by Tuk Tuk. The road to the hotel is a bit challenging, but it is totally worth it. Saying goodbye was so hard. We would come back 100%—this felt like the most special stay of our entire journey through Sri Lanka. ♥️♥️♥️

Everything was great. The staff took great care of us, cooked for us for at a very affordable price, and ensured our stay was perfect. We will definitely come back, without a doubt the best accommodation we have booked in Sri Lanka. The place is also very quiet, the breakfast was very good, and the beds very comfortable. We also had a desk, which allowed us to work on our laptop. The wifi was decent, good for Sri Lanka, but I would still recommend you have a data plan. You can hold a call on their wifi for instance but don’t expect super speeds. (10mb/up and 2mb/down)
