The Salt Box

Great location near to town. Small as advertised but fine for us. Lovely bed linen and towels. The lounge and kitchen were nicely furnished.

Sadly it needed a bathroom clean- mouldy areas in the bathroom, very rusty radiator, and extraction fan didn’t work. The floor had previous occupants body hair!! Faint smell of stake urine ! no windows that opened in the flat which was uncomfortable at night- the balcony door opened. No cleaning products left so unable to use dishwasher. Main bedroom blind broken so stayed closed which was a shame.small bedroom has two tiny ventilation windows but they didn’t open- not ideal.

Well presented and in excellent central location with free off-road parking close by. Spacious for a young family with well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds and plenty of towels. Owner was pretty responsive

As is, it’s not really suitable for young children - there was no mattress for the cot provided (the remote owner did indicate she wasn’t aware and would rectify this), and no guard for the upper bunk bed - worth clarifying whether these things have been added or BYO as this restricts sleeping arrangements. I personally always appreciate some small welcome gesture - this is no frills. Appreciating that it’s self catering accommodation, coffee and sugar were provided but there wasn’t a teabag in sight (in Devon) and elements of the property could do with sprucing up!

Location and comfort

Only that the mould in the bathroom and the bathroom radiator need some attention. The rest was excellent

Good location in Dartmouth, easy check in, very comfortable bed and clean linen, spacious for 2 people, baby and dog. Decor in living area and bedrooms clean and modern. Parking available.

Needs some TLC generally, especially in the bathroom as some other reviews have mentioned. Rusty towel rail, mold in the ceiling in bathroom, bedroom carpet stained, glass doors to balcony had not been cleaned from bird poo. No hand soap in the bathroom, kitchen tap was loose, only one toilet roll provided. Wouldn’t take too much to improve but bathroom needs attention.

The location was good with an easy walk into town The bed was comfortable and the outlook was nice. The couch was also comfortable. The shower and shower mat were good

We couldn't find the place for over half an hour and made several phone calls to the number provided. At first instructions were along the lines of 'its near the newly renovated white house!" We gave street names but the woman on the phone essentially had no idea where the accommodation was. Finally we were given a pin to the address and we found it with the assistance of many locals. Signage should be updated. The heated towel rail was rusty and looked awful and should be replaced. The carpet in the bedroom was stained. We were only provided with just over half a roll of toilet paper for the two of us for 3 days. Luckily we had our own. Finally parking was not ideal up quite a steep hill and not convenient to the property...this should have been communicated better.

The location was fantastic although the area is fairly hilly,but coming from Cornwall we are used to hills!
