Holyrood Duplex 3-Bedroom Apartment

There were two of us, and each of us had our own comfy bedroom and bathroom. The downstairs lounge and kitchen were also really nice. And the view out our bedrooms and the kitchen featured Arthur's Seat, which is a pretty impressive sight. We had a car that we were able to park in the nearby parking garage for free, and the location of the flat is only a short walk to Old Town, Holyrood Park, the Royal Mile, and basically anything one might want to see as a visitor.

Because the accommodation is on the 2nd floor and only accessible by stairs, my friend quickly tired of the climb. I didn't mind at all, but it is something to consider for people who aren't used to climbing lots of stairs

The location of the property is ideally suited for visits to the university and the centre of Edinburgh. The flat itself was functional and clean, although the building was somewhat grim looking and resembled student accommodation.

Unfortunately, our stay was completely spoiled, on our second afternoon, by the discovery of dog poo on the floor below and the stairs, which seemed to originate in the flat below. Repeated complaints to the host resulted in the owner coming by to clean up but it wasn't a perfect job. The stench was disgusting and nauseating. To make matters worse, we were without wifi from the second day of our stay, as the owner was changing the provider. To be fair, we received a refund of 150 pounds but that was not much compensation for the distress and inconvenience experienced.

The apartment itself was comfy and lovely. The apt is about a 10-25 to get to everything

The outside area is very sketchy. The building in which the pt resides is sketchy. During the night, the street noise was very loud, including people fighting, dogs barking, and birds making the strangest noises ever!

Excellent views and location

There was a lot of key boxes so it was hard to know which one was ours-also we could have used a second set of keys as we were a family staying there one set is hard. The location was excellent

El piso duplex por dentro está muy bien con todo moderno y acogedor, casi nuevo y bien equipado. La situación inmejorable a 5 mins de la calle del castillo y vistas a la montaña estupendas

No tiene ascensor. Es un tercer piso y la escalera del edificio está muy pero que muy sucia. Contrasta mucho con el interior.

Great location and very functional spaces for our family.

We'd recommend they add some hooks around the house. Towel hooks in the bathrooms and jacket hooks by the front doors. The stairwell for the building is smelly and dirty but thank goodness the apartment is clean and smells fine.

1. The location was good. 2. The host responded in a timely manner. 3. The duplex was clean. 4. The owner changed out the stained towels when we told her about them.

1. The entry way into the building was littered with cigarette butts, etc. 2. The hallway and stairway up to the 3rd floor duplex were dark, dirty, and smelled really bad. 3. Only one of the three mattresses was decent. 4. The window in the first bedroom at the top of the stairs didn't open, and because there were no fans, it was hot at night and no way to cool off in that room. 5. The window in the 2nd bedroom was cracked. 6. The mattress in the 3rd bedroom was super thin and super soft. 7. The bathroom sinks were slow draining, and although the owner called someone in to fix the problem, the problem wasn't fixed. 8. The light fixture in the living room was dim, which we told the owner about but she didn't have someone change the bulb. 9. The couch was cheap and stained. 10. The living room rug was stained. 11. The posting for the unit said there was a washer and a dryer, but there was only a washer. 12. There was no coffee -- not even instant -- and no coffee pot. There was just a pot to heat water for the instant coffee we had to buy. 13. When the shower on the top floor was on high, the water randomly became boiling hot. The shower should only be used on eco.
