Holyrood Duplex 3-Bedroom Apartment

Location was great, walking distance to the main areas and the train station. Handy for shops, attractions and restaurants.

The entrance & hallway were shabby and uninviting. I felt that the property was too expensive and for a 4 night stay.

Location was pretty good and had 3 bedrooms which was nice, TV had Netflix and showers had good water pressure.

When we arrived, there was a note on the front door saying that someone had defecated in the building and the whole building sure smelled that way. The apartment itself was overall nice, however not worth the price for a few reasons: 1. beds are not comfy at all. One of the bedrooms had the Hemnes pull out from Ikea, and I'll include a picture of what the mattress looked like. The other bedrooms, we all woke up with sore backs every morning. 2. Couch seemed dirty as well. 3. Given the building (and I know the owners can't control the building), the price should be a lot less. We would have made a two-bedroom work if we knew what the building looked like. Would not recommend staying here. highly recommend you ask for pictures of the building (inside and out) prior to booking so you can make an informed decision on whether you wish to stay there.

Booked this for my family to stay in whilst attending a wedding. It was ideally placed for our needs, comfortable and well appointed and very homely.

Nothing. It suited us.it is initially a little off putting in the hall way and stairs, but the apartment interior is great

Not much - the place was unexpectedly awful and poor value for money

The location was not great, the building was awful - lots of stairs which is bad for luggage, there were broken windows in the stairwell, not a welcome and loads of instructions to do this or that

Clean and good size. Spacious rooms. Just as described. Location great - short walk to a few great restaurants and cafes. (Recommend brunch at Loundons). Tesco Express literally across the road. Good friendly responsiveness from owner.

Heating a little temperamental. We weren’t sure what we were supposed to do with recycling. One toilet seat wrong size for the toilet but it was nice and clean! No locks on the bathroom doors. Kitchen sink / draining board had a leak, but impressively quick response - plumber was sent very quickly (didn’t really solve it though). Lobby and stairs were fine during our stay (I know others have complained in their reviews but we had no issues). Lots of stairs to climb with heavy suitcases though! Some noise through the wall until 4am from neighbour who must have got an electric guitar for Christmas! Kept my son awake most of the night on Christmas night. Occasional other music from there too but mostly very quiet otherwise.

A very neat, clean and well appointed property with everything one would need for a comfortable stay. Great location close to the castle and Royal mile.

Only one negative though and found the entrance and stair well quite confronting as it had a pungent odour. To be clear this is not the fault of the owner and she mentioned the building itself wasn’t up to scratch and not to be put off. However, if the body corporate could be convinced to do a deep clean and fresh paint of the entrance and stairwell this property would be close to 5 star and in future I’m sure would be a highly sought after asset, given its location and high level of comfort.

Perfect location with the Royal Mile and Holyrood park on the door step and the rail station less than a mile away. Very clean, comfortable and a well equipped. Couldn’t ask for anything more, I would highly recommend a stay here.
