From the moment we arrived up the winding roads of the Douro Valley to the Casa do Arco the views were incredible! When you step inside everything from floor to ceiling is pristine. If you are looking for a place that is completely quiet this is the perfect property. There is a dining area within the property, however be sure you book ahead for lunch and/or dinner as there are only 3 tables available. The dinner was outstanding with an option of 4 prefixed meals including a veal chop, cod fish, pasta, and a meat option as well as ala cart meals. The dining areas are closed on Sunday and Mondays, however the breakfast which provided an assortment of fruits, jams, breads, eggs and yogurt are served for the guests everyday from 9-10 am. The cozy living room area provides another incredible view of the Douro Valley with a fireplace and wine that is available for the guests to drink. The outdoor area has a small pool on the warmer days, as well as reclining chairs and umbrellas for those lounging days! The stay at Casa Do Arco felt like home.

Fabulous views over the valley. Very gracious hosts & staff. Excellent breakfast & dinner. One thing to note though is that the 3rd room looks directly onto the road and not the river in the beautiful valley below. We will be back, and will choose the right room next time.

Main complaint would be lack of privacy especially for the room that faces the driveway. An easy solution would have been a privacy window that allows the guest to see the amazing views from the inside, preventing vision from the outside. More minor issue…walls not as soundproof as one would think.

Lieu exceptionnel. Excellent accueil et service. La literie était extrêmement confortable. La vue depuis la chambre était à couper le souffle ! Difficile de quitter cet endroit merveilleux...

Dommage que l'isolation phonique entre les chambres ne soit pas très bonne. Nous entendions nos voisins parler et même ronfler !

Das stilvolle moderne Haus. Die grossen Fenster ! Bequeme Liegestühle. Der Douro Ausflug hat Spaß gemacht, war aber ziemlich teuer.

Bademäntel wären angenehm gewesen. Frühstück erst ab 9 Uhr, das war für uns nicht gut. Abendessen perfekter Service, leider waren die Speisen zu schwach gewürzt .
