Casa do Arco by Douro Exclusive

A nossa estadia no Douro superou todas as expectativas: 11 estrelas! Desde o primeiro momento fomos recebidos com enorme simpatia pela Ana. O pequeno-almoço foi delicioso e o jantar estava perfeitamente planeado, confecionado e servido com todo o cuidado. As sugestões de vinho foram excelentes, tanto para a carne como para a sobremesa. Muito obrigada a toda a equipa que é simplesmente fantástica! As vistas sobre o Douro são (tal como esperado) verdadeiramente deslumbrantes, tirei imensas fotografias. Também agradecemos todas as recomendações, que tornaram a visita ainda mais especial. Ainda há tanto para descobrir, por isso certamente iremos regressar. Recomendo vivamente!

Arco is roughly a 10 minute drive from Pinhao which is basically a working wine town. Not much to recommend in the town, not even the local grocery store staff seemed to like tourists. However, we loved Casa do Arco, the building which is basically a box shape on 3 levels is modern and all class. Someone had some great vision in designing this place. Design and building construction looked to be well executed with lovely common areas, great breakfasts and a wonderful dinner on the first night. Make sure you book ahead for a memorable dinner, excellent food and wine. The views down into the valley were wonderful and even though it is above a road, it was surprisingly quiet. The above ground pool was on the small side, but is was refreshing in 35C heat. Very relaxing under some olive tress I think, peaceful. Good security as well.

A beautiful, boutique hotel, with stunning views from every room. The staff was excellent, the food amazing, and the level of service superb. Highly recommend!!!

The wine on site was a little expensive, but otherwise all was great.
