"Short break near Gateshead."

Great location for Beamish Museum. Plenty of parking. Staff were helpful. The food in the restaurant was good. Breakfast was also good. We had a family room which was large. Comfy bed.

Room was in need of improvement throughout. Hand dryer noise from below.

"wonderful staff and food, rooms need some investment."

6.0

The staff were really lovely. The food was great - we ate in the pub both nights of our stay. We would visit for food again. Breakfast was lovely and the cooked breakfast was made to order so lovely and hot/fresh. Bed was large and comfortable. General decoration is tasteful.

The rooms require some general attention to detail and in some parts full renovation. There were lots of examples of 'painting over the cracks' and mould (in some places pained over) was an issue in the bathroom of the family room. Some windows are sealed closed for safety which I'm sure adds to the problem. The double lodge room had stained net curtains and many spiders webs in the corners. For this reason we would not choose to stay here again. This is a shame as the staff were really lovely, but no general housekeeping would solve these issues. There was some noise through the walls from others TVs etc.
