Cosy countryside stay- Waters Upton, Telford

The only reasonable positive comment I can make is that upon speaking to the property owner Lois she was polite and friendly

This was not fit for purpose and wrongly advertised. This is a mere studio not apartment. It's a room with some kitchen facilities but it's not a whole apartment as advertised. The bathroom is shared by multiple rooms and it's seriously not attractive. Our bed sheets were not clean and long hair was inside the sheets. There was empty drinks bottles under the units showing it wasn't cleaned and the room is stifling hot. The window sticks closed and when you open it there's little ventilation. The keypad in the car park on exit doesn't work so you get stranded inside the car park even on foot but the most concerning is that the restaurant owners who only rent the space to trade appear to have issues with the building owner and make things very difficult for people staying in the airbnb rooms. The door to the building is always open with no security and it generally feels very unsafe. This accommodation needs checking for all the legal requirements of a letting.

Size of room and utilities available. Good shower cleanliness and power sources.

It was so incredibly hot, sleep did not come to us. May have been the weather as it was hot; however, there was not enough ventilation via the one window (capped at maybe an inch for airflow) and the fan that may have been a heater only circulated the air at the same temperature with little to no effect, maybe being above a kitchen emphasised the heat. We ended up staying at a friend's and left a night early

Easy to check in. Good parking facility. The shared bathroom was pretty clean, exceeded my expectations.

Shared bathroom! The owner needs to be more explicit as booking is advertising this as a one bed, 1 bath flat. There are 4 rooms on the floor, not sure how many people use this. We arrived late and stayed only the night to have a little rest. Shady bed sheets. Two of the pillows had stains and looked like someone already slept there. Did not looked fresh at all.

The bed was two singles put together, their was thick long black hairs all in the bed, bugs all in the corners of the room, one towel for showering which would have barely covered my body as it wasn’t even a bath sheet!!

Not only I didn't like anything about this place, it is not safe to stay there, and you will never get hold of the owner!

I strongly advise against staying at this property. The experience was deeply unsettling and, quite frankly, unsafe. I had originally booked a three-night stay but was forced to leave after just one night due to a series of serious concerns. From the moment I arrived, I was approached immediately by an individual who was the only other person on the premises. This person knew far too much about the property to be a fellow guest and came across more like a permanent resident. The situation worsened during the night. I was awakened by an overpowering smell of cannabis coming from just outside my room. To make matters worse, the window in my room was broken and couldn’t be opened, so I was unable to get any fresh air. I developed a severe headache and felt physically ill as a result. The property was noisy all night, with people coming and going, further adding to the sense of disorder and lack of security. In the morning, I discovered that the gate code didn’t work from the inside, leaving me effectively trapped. I had to climb over the gate in order to leave and access my car — an outrageous and potentially dangerous situation. I immediately emailed the owners before departing to report these issues. Unsurprisingly, I never received a response. Their lack of accountability speaks volumes. In summary, this was one of the most distressing experiences I’ve had while traveling. I would urge others to stay away from this property — it is not just a waste of money, but a genuine safety risk.
