Cosy countryside stay- Waters Upton, Telford

Easy enough to access up a flight of stairs

My satnav took me to the wrong end of the village and in the dark I tried getting into the wrong property! Oh dear

The bed is very horrible I wake up feeling pain all of my body. The mattress are not good at all no comfort

Industrial extractor fan from the pub/restaurant right outside the window. In view of the noise I contacted the owner and asked to move as I had asked for a quiet room. They offered to help me find somewhere else but I organised this myself and left immediately. They verbally offered me a refund but refused later to honour this. An expensive and very unfortunate experience

The noise

Has a brilliant Indian restaurant downstairs. Was reasonably cheap. Fridge and cooking facilities. Friendly hosts.

Shared bathroom but we forgot to check that when booking. Noisy main road straight outside, slightly rattles the room and hard to sleep from it.

I stayed 4 nights to visit friends and travel the area so was out for most of the day. Entrance instructions were clear and was able to retrieve the key. Did not meet the hosts in person but was in contact via the Booking.com app. Neighbour introduced himself and was very friendly throughout the stay, ensuring the bathroom (shared) was cleaned regularly. Room was clean and tidy, beautifully decorated. Bed was comfy and bedding nice and cosy. Used the gas oven once which worked well. Kettle was clean. The building is old so, yes, there can be a bit of noise from the main road, downstairs in the kitchen and people coming in and out. I am noise sensitive so I always carry loop earplugs and this was sufficient for an uninterrupted sleep. Quite a bit of light leaks through the top of the door when the landing light comes on. As well as the door, the communal areas could do with a refresh to match the high standard of the room itself, but otherwise a great holiday! Thank you!

It had a kitchen

The kitchen didn’t have pots and pans except a small frying pan. The room only had a fan heater and tiny heater. Poor bathroom which was cold and grim hall and stairs. Wi-Fi didn’t work for 3 of four days.

Not much - the car park is ok

Simply putting a load of furniture in a room does not make it an apartment. This normal sized bedroom had a kitchenette in it (seen better days) and a gas cooker. There was no smoke alarm in the room (I think this is illegal) and no fire safety information either which is definitely illegal. There were 2 extra heaters in the room as it was so cold. No personnel on site and a really grubby entrance hall and stairs. The bed was 2 singles pushed together and really uncomfortable. I was concerned with a live gas supply in the bedroom with no carbon monoxide alarm as well.The sofa was really uncomfortable as well. All in all, this is a bad place to stay

Good sized, comfortable room, welcoming host, perfect location for the friends we were visiting, adequately heated
