Size of accommodation was very good - including shower/bathroom - well maintained Great breakfast - very clean facilities

Arrived late but staff were very accommodating and friendly. Lovely olde worlde 16th century public house. Lots of wooden beams. Beautiful location.

TV didn't work, bedside lamps didn't work. I didn't care. After long day travelling just wanted my bed

Room was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was suitable for our needs (visiting family). The site was easily accessible by taxi from Didcot station.

Reception was unmanned and it took some time to contact the owners and get access to the room. There were several phone numbers on display that didn't seem to work and we were advised by another guest that he had finally managed contact via WhatsApp. This is what we did

I rarely leave reviews, but this stay was so disappointing I feel compelled to warn others. Upon arrival, there was no one at reception—I had to call a mobile number just to get someone to check me in. The photos online are clearly outdated and do not reflect the current state of the property. The room was bare, with no carpet—just basic lino flooring. The shower looked so old and unclean I didn’t even risk using it. Outside, the car park featured a derelict caravan with a collapsing awning, overflowing ashtrays, and deck chairs that gave the place a very neglected feel. Inside, the décor was a strange mix of mismatched Chinese plates and ornaments, which added to the overall sense of disarray. Breakfast was cold and of very poor quality—definitely not worth the price. Do not trust the positive reviews from this year—they are extremely misleading. I wish I had known before booking. This place needs serious attention and transparency.

Lovely village. Good pub locally. Breakfast was nice.

Too much clutter around. Too many plug sockets overloaded. Shower was cold. Noisy fridge in room which we had to unplug.

Eccentric, multi-room property in haphazard condition inside and out. Cluttered, unsafe exterior areas. Breakfast served in extremely cluttered, bizarre, charmless room. Probably a health & safety nightmare. Avoid.

Prefacing this with the fact I don’t like to leave bad reviews unless justified/required. This is one example where I feel it necessary to do so. When booking this property, I did so with my friends wedding in mind at 2pm. As such, I had requested to check in early when I first booked this property 6 weeks ago. I Received confirmation this was authorised yesterday morning (day of friends wedding) We Arrived at 12 noon to a cleaner asking who I was and then the other member of staff insisting I was early and should wait in my car. No niceties, no welcome, a very stand offish approach to a new guest at the property. We waited, albeit confused by how we were greeted. The room was clean, but dated. The duvet was damp and the bed uncomfortable. After the wedding, we returned to our room tired and in need of a good sleep. The next morning we woke up, and immediately wanted to check out. Upon doing so, we went to reception and were told (from the kitchen) to leave our keys on the desk. Again, no asking how are stay was etc, just blunt and abrupt.
