Clean, staff so friendly. Room was super cozy. Food all home-cooked. Lovely little find and spoilt for choice for walking and hiking with the dog.

Bit noisy on Friday evening.... But it is a pub after all

Was made to feel very welcome by the Scottish gentleman in charge (sorry, did not catch his name), and he looked after me very kindly throughout. Great service. I had a twin room for single occupancy, which was clean and comfortable. There is no cooked breakfast available, but a breakfast tray of fruit and bakery items in the room, plus juice and yoghurts in the small cooler. This was perfectly adequate for a continental breakfast in the room. The food menu had a good range of pub classics and it was great to enjoy an evening meal without having to venture out on a cold, wet evening. The pub closed at 9pm so there was no issue with noise late at night and I had a good night’s sleep.

Good communication over the phone about picking up key to room a little earlier than check in time as we were going to be at a function all day and evening. Access to room was no issue after hours as front door key is provided.

A great idea to provide breakfast in the room. Fabulous dinners in the bar. Ideal dog walking opportunities.

Creaking pipes in the night, appreciate it is an old building.
