Jackie and Boyd made the visit a lovely experience. Polite, friendly and attentive.

No cooked breakfast is a real shame.

"A very welcoming, friendly place to stay, perfect in every respect for walkers on the South Downs Way"

10.0

Everything! All the staff encountered were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Boyd and Mike in particular were keen to ensure guests enjoyed their stay. The Blue Bell is ideally situated. The room was comfortable and the Breakfast provided in the room, was varied and very generous and allowed walkers to get an early start if desired. The Dinner in the evening was excellent! The option of purchasing a packed lunch was also very useful for those walking and proved to be good value. Again the contents were extremely generous. Thank you for all your efforts!

Nothing!

"Disappointing"

4.0

This is a community pub and everything was fine apart from the breakfast provision. Their website says “all rooms include a ‘to go’ style breakfast which include items like porridge/fresh fruit/muffins/juice etc” – this means that a few items are provided in the rooms for guests to consume there before they go out, and the food items per person are (from memory) 1 pot instant porridge, 1 small yogurt, 1 sweet muffin, 1 small flapjack bar, 1 apple plus a shortbread biscuit to eat with a hot drink. This is not really satisfactory, particularly for a cost of £335 for two nights bed and breakfast.

"Nice pub , enjoyed my short stay"

7.0

Close to Westdean College. Cosy pub with nice food and comfy bed. Staff very friendly.

Breakfast; plenty available, just not to my particular taste (gluten free porridge, fat free yoghurt). Only earl grey and green tea available - would have preferred breakfast tea.
