Gianfranco was very accommodating and the apartment was fantastic.

Right from first contact, the host was very attentive and helpful. He made parking the car and finding the property very easy. The fridge was full of all we could need for evening snack and breakfast. to enjoy in a spectacular terrace. The apartment itself was just awesome, a very well designed and executed renovation of the old cave system. Very spacious and beautiful right down to the view and location. A definite choice to make when visiting Matera.

You have to see Gianfranco’s apartment to believe just how beautiful it is, words arent enough. Gianfranco is a brilliant host, he recommended train routes from Salerno, arranged taxi for us , was at the cave to greet us, and even came to take us to the bus station when we left, so friendly and so generous, we couldn’t thank him enough for making a wonderful stay even better The property itself is superb,the bathroom is sheer luxury, very comfortable and clean throughout, with every thing you need and Gianfranco left so many delicious things to eat and drink, including a bottle of red wine. The terrace had breathtaking views of Matera. Matera is a beautiful city and you will not find a better host or apartment anywhere in Matera so treat yourself to a stay here and you will always cherish it

Excellent location with attentive hosts and very easy to contact if needed. The apartment was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. We would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Matera or exploring Puglia.

The cave was really comfortable, spotless and exceptionally well equipped . The view over the 'Sassi' from the terrace was stunning. It's perfectly located for all Matera has to offer. A lovely breakfast is provided. The hosts are very proud of La Cava Nel Barisano, and quite rightly so. A truly unique experience. Thank you.

A unique cave stay in a beautiful property with great views of the Matera from the balcony. Very peaceful and tranquil position. Everything we needed was provided in the house with wonderful generosity of goods provided.

This apartment is simply stunning and if you get a chance, book it. Gianfranco was cleaning when we arrived but let us leave our bags as we were early. The terrace has a breathtaking view of Matera. The bathroom is incredible and we had so much space overall. Best of all is the amount of food and drink provided for breakfast and snacks. Enough for us for 2 days of breakfasts, lunches and aperitivi. So generous and delicious. We had an amazing stay, one of those places we will never forget.
