Mel was an exceptional host, nothing was too much trouble

being picky the cabinet above the washhand basin protruded a little and when I bent over the basin I occasionally bumped my head, in my opinion a flat mirror above the basin and the cabinet to one side would have been to my personal preference.

Mel met us on arrival and showed us around - couldn’t have made us feel more welcome.The annexe was spotless , had everything you could need and the strawberry jam provided for breakfast is delicious! The annexe was an absolute joy and we hope to return soon x

As near perfect as can be. A very comfortable cosy cottage ideal for one or two, includes a patio with furniture and barbecue (charcoal provided), a well equipped kitchen (with enough crockery for guests); handy fresh milk and freshly ground coffee; a good bathroom with decent shower; and the most friendly and helpful hosts (not forgetting Bertie the dog) that one could wish for. The furniture in the bedroom was lovely, the bed comfy. The lounge felt larger than expected, the wifi was excellent and fast, great if you need to do some work (unlike in many hotels, it was perfectly happy with my work VPN) or want to watch a film (and there's a big 4K TV with handy HDMI socket). Strategically placed auto-lighting nightlights are a great touch, too.

Parking and exiting the driveway was difficult

Mel made us welcome right from the start. We had a welcome pack of delicious goodies for us and our dog on arrival. Great attention to detail, with a useful guide of local information on walks, takeaways, places of interest etc. Handy notes around the cottage to help with tv, kitchen appliances and heating. Exceptionally clean and comfortable throughout. Our dog could go anywhere, with no restrictions and blankets to go on the furniture supplied (if required). Great walks right from the doorstep, set in a quiet location and an enclosed garden to sit out in if weather permits.

The location was beautiful and the annexe was so comfortable ! Mel was the most helpful and welcoming of hosts! Would return in a heartbeat !

A weekend break away with our dogs.The owners left out goody bag for them and annexe was equipped with everything we needed. They showed us walks we could do with pups which were fab. They baked daily and left an honesty box so the cakes were a welcome addition!! We would highly recommend! Thank you!!
