"Good value, cosy country pub & restaurant with a lovely morning view to wake up to."

We spent NYE here - Good value for money, really friendly staff and the pub was really cosy with all the xmas decorations - the food was classic pub food done to a high standard (perfect pub chips), also very good selection of GF menu options. We are planning on returning next year all being well. The view from our bedroom in the morning was lovely. Highly recommend.

The only negative was there was no hairdryer in the bedroom but we didn't ask. They might have had one spare.

Really welcoming staff in a nice location with comfy rooms, great views and cosy pub underneath. Would recommend anyone to stay here

Rooms could do with a bit of soundproofing we could hear someone's TV and snoring the first night

Lovely host, lovely atmosphere, beds comfortable and rooms were lovely, Host was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was as amazing.

"Exceptional"

Only really used the hotel for sleeping, but the bed was really comfy, the room was quiet, and had a good stay. I think we just slept there the first weekend renovation was complete, but everything was fine regarding heating and WiFi.

We stayed the same week the new owners took over. Given the teething issue such as being in the middle of switching over the WiFi and no dinner service, we was warned of this and offered a refund well in advance. They couldn't have been more attentive. They were obviously exited for their new business venture which I'm sure will be a success as all the staff were hospitable and really friendly! Gorgeous location with a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for a break from busy life.

"Very pleasant stay at a reasonable price"

The accommodation was close to the wedding venue at Danby castle. The double room size was adequate, the shower was hot and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff was very polite, attentive and helpful.
