We stayed here just before christmas (20th-23rd December) for our wedding on the 22nd at Danby Castle Barn. The owner could not be more accommodating or helpful. I had my makeup trail here, and without asking, he brought up a higher chair to the makeup artist. Nothing was too much and all the staff were so helpful. The pub has a lovely, homely feel and felt very christmassy, there were even some carol singers that popped in on their way around!. The food was delicious, the chef was amazing and the food was brought out quickly. We had a lovely stay and it made our wedding much less stressful as the staff were so helpful and kind in our last few days getting ready.

A lovely over night stay at the Downe arms , Jonathan was really accommodating and nothing was too much trouble , and a lovely comfy night's sleep .

Welcoming host, beautiful village and good location. Nice comfy bed and delicious breakfast. We had a fantastic stay over new year with our 2 dogs. Jonny was so welcoming and friendly, the food was fantastic, my husband had the lamb and said it was one of the best meals he'd had! Breakfast was delicious, beautiful village, really handy for visiting the coast. Lovely cosy pub with nice views and comfortable room. Would highly recommend .

Double bed, would prefer king size and room was big enough for a king.

Really great to stay in the old pub. Brilliant surroundings. Amazing view. The staff were really friendly. Only minor point is that the extractor fan in the bathroom stopped working.
