De Vere Cotswold Water Park

We stayed during an exceptional heat wave and so air conditioning would have been a bonus, but we were comfortable enough. The hotel is very dog-friendly and for a large hotel is very well appointed. Breakfast (in the bar area) and dinner (in the Old Boat House) were very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of free on-site parking. Very well placed for the Cotswold Water Park.

Room was a little tired in places but this happens.

The location

The staff and hidden extra cost for using the facilities as a guest, ridiculous to ask guest to separately to use the hotel areas. A complete scam!

Good breakfast

£30 for the dog and now no treats in the room, tatty ripped bed ( thankfully we bring our own ) no goodies or real reason for £30 as cleaning can be even worse for humans !

The room was great food was great location great

Lots of issues rooms were not ready i asked for adjoining rooms they didnt do that even though i asked in january and gave plenty of notice. I asked for twin rooms and only 2/4 were set up correctly. I booked dinner 2 nights. They didnt book the dinner so we had to wait an hour to get in. We booked 2nd night again and they still got it wrong booking 7 people instead of 8. At the spa they had my name down wong so couldnt find my booking at first. They then said i owed 77p on my account. But how when all treatments are £70 or £80 i had to show my receipts for thar aswell. Food wasnt great on night 2 i had steak it was tough and stringy. Other than that it was good. They just need some training on booking system. As we were leaving we heard another couple with an issue whefe they had booked and nothing on the system so it wasnt just us..

Bathroom needs a deep clean

The breakfast was very good and the room had a lovely waterside view

You had to pay to use the pool . It was nice weather but we had no air conditioning in the bedroom which meant it was hot despite opening windows & use of a fan . This seems to be something the hotel are aware of as several guests around ne commented on this during check out process . I felt the room price was expensive at nearly £200 not to have air conditioning….
