First and Last Youth Hostel

Die Lage ist prima. Der Mitarbeiter war sehr freundlich :)

Alles andere: extrem runtergekommen, es riecht überall muffelig, das Zimmer war sehr heruntergekommen, das Bad extrem dreckig (Schamhaare der letzten Besucher in der Dusche und an den Fliesen der Wand).

The location was okay, not far from the ocean, and can see the cliffs of Dover from the hotel patio.

Upon arrival, we encountered several serious issues: Security concern: The room could not be locked from the inside. This posed a significant safety risk, as our belongings were unsecured and we were unable to safely sleep in the room. Hygiene issue: The toilet had clearly been used and not cleaned prior to our arrival. This is highly unhygienic. Health concern: There was visible mould in the shower area, which presents a potential health risk. Misrepresentation of the room: The room was advertised as a “budget double bedroom with private en-suite bathroom.” However, the space provided does not meet the expected standards of a bedroom and was significantly below what was advertised.

The location

It was dirty, hard to tell if the sheets were clean.. it was like someone had slept in there already. There were wood lice in the bed. And it was freeeezing cold. I had to sleep in my coat and was still cold.

It’s so incredibly close to the ferry access point. Right on top of it. So convenient. The family room at the top of the property is so quirky and brilliant fun. To be in the roof space is fun. The kids loved it. And then to open the doors and have the incredibly imposing white cliffs in font of you is amazing. Loved it.

Next to the port of dover

Very cold inside no heating.the owner changed the secret code i spent more than hour outside till I asked for the new code via a friend who called the person in charge

Great location - next to the beach and along the cliffs. During Sunrise, you can sit on the terrace and watch the cliffs change colour. Really amazing. Facilities great - lovely showers with lots of space, downstairs you have a kitchen 24/7 with tea and coffee. Breakfast is beans on toast or cereals. There are books to read, games to play, darts, pool and tv to watch. Beds are comfortable and big.

I thought it was very suitable for me as a traveller. If you can’t manage steps, this property might not be suitable for you.

Late check-in after getting off the ferry. And could get a family room. Parking tricky as on a small road.

It used to be a pub and there seemed some quick diy fixes to convert it. Like padlock for the room door. So better for non family.
