Camp Almanor at Big Springs

Nice little cabin, looking from the outside like a small shed, but inside very nice decorated and fully equiped. Welcomed by friendly host Patty on arrival. This is a great stay with warm weather when you can sit outside on the deck and enjoy the quiet environment. We had cold weather, rain on the first day of our stay, so we had to stay inside and find out that it is very dark with only one window in the kitchen area and one small window in the door. There are not enough lighting fixtures.

No sink in the bathroom area, so you had to clean your teeth in the kitchen sink. The stove is placed in an open cabinet on wheels with a shelf above and an extension cord behind - this is very dangerous! From cabin 13 that we have stayed in, there is no lake view: you see the cars parked in front of the cabin, large trees and houses on the other side of the road. With a lot of imagination you can figure out that the blue spots between the trees and houses is Lake Almanor. Also there is no lake access. The entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park is a one hour drive, also not nearby.

The house had everythijf we needed for our trip and the hospitality was just perfect!

Very clean, cozy, great location. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail.

The cabin was delightful. Super well equipped and clean!! Very well planned out. Patty, the camp host, was so helpful and friendly. Beds were good. We loved our Cabin 13. Lucky us!!!

The only thing missing, in our opinion, was a reading light by the beds…but I always have a headlamp. ;) The cabin and its deck were so comfortable!!! We loved it.

We loved everything. It was very peaceful and a very cute cabin we stayed in. We will be coming back.

Great host and the cabin was lovely.
