Building with history in beautiful setting. Very friendly staff and good breakfast.

From first arriving we were greeted by staff with a very warm welcome. They were very friendly and went out of their way to give excellent service. The food was outstanding and the surroundings were spectacular.

I couldn't fault it.

This was such a fun stay. Like stepping into hogwarts. There are not many rooms so it is really quiet, and the staff make you feel like you are at home. Instantly welcoming, if I had had my slippers with me id have been walking around in them. The staff are funny and kind, and cooked us whatever we felt like (the food was exceptional. The chef is a talent). This place is being refurbed slowly and just starting to make changes to become a hotel in its own right (its more of a golf club but well on its way). If you love quirky and a dramatic setting, and fabulous customer services, get in there quick.

The room was pretty basic. No telly.

Beautiful building, set in perfect grounds (golf club) if you like old castles and history this is for you, the staff are the friendly , the golfers were also friendly and very welcoming, the bar area had such a warm atmosphere, we had lunch & homemade cakes which was perfect. Staff also arranged and booked our cab into Lancaster (£10 e/w) clean albeit a small room and basic was quiet and perfect for our stay ...kettle and facilities to make tea & coffee with nice proper mugs & biscuits! No TV but didn't want one so that's ok for us. Bed also very comfortable. All in all we loved it....if your looking for modern, shiny, immaculate decor and rooms this isn't for you. it's rustic, old, worn in places but full of character & charm. Breakfast quality ingredients delightful 🙂

Not a complaint , shower small.

We liked everything about it,the staff were outstanding,and the place itself was also outstanding .the people working there couldn't have treated us any better.we would highly recommend.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like

First room offered was not acceptable however on raising our concerns with the receptionist very acceptable changes were immediately made.

It is a beautiful building with surrounding greenery. The breakfast was delicious and served in front of a cosy real fire with gorgeous views out of the large windows. Staff were very nice especially Barry and Emma.

The rooms had no TV’s, and no toiletries . And as 3 females we were accidentally locked out on a dark night which was a bit scary.
