The Chocolate Factory House, Kandy- exclusive private apartment

The view is great. The host very attentive, pro-active, helping us with transportation.

As announced upon arrival, there is a limit of 4 GB for Wifi. This is monitored during the stay and messages sent when more is used. Be aware that watching Netflix very quickly exceeds the 4GB. Netflix is free and we were only charged for 1 day of exceeding the limit. The amount to pay is neglible but the hosts would well advised to simply raise the rent a bit and get rid of this system. For guests it is not possible to know how many GBs are being used (we were in fact not using it for our phones) and being monitored continously during the stay is not pleasant. It is nice to have a kitchen and some supplies (salt, oil) available. We were looking forward to some self catering but this proved a challenge with only 1 pan.

The property was exceptionally clean, well set out and the washing machine was such a treat after a week of travelling.

The road leading up to the property was very hilly and we had a couple of problems getting tuk tuks.

À quelques km du centre, au calme, une petite montée jusqu’à l’appartement qui se fait très bien en tuktuk, pour une vue imprenable ! L’appartement est parfaitement équipé, décoré avec goût, ultra confortable. Sami est charmant, bel accueil !

Prachtig, ruim en schoon appartement dat gezellig is ingericht, met heerlijke, grote bedden. De slaapkamers hebben airconditioning en de douches zijn warm. De eigenaren spannen zich enorm in om het je naar de zin te maken en regelen bijv. ook tuk tuks- het appartement ligt op een heuvel, een eindje van het centrum. Sami heeft ook een plek voor ons geregeld om naar de perahera te kijken. Het ontbijt was heerlijk op het (dak) terras, met mooi uitzicht.

De gordijnen in 1 van de slaapkamers zouden iets meer kunnen verduisteren, verder niets!

We had heard of the famous Sri Lankan hospitality and now we got to experience it first hand. Saminda was a very helpful host and went out of his way to help us , even to the extent of arranging a Tuk-tuk for us. The location of the apartment is just OMG. The views even in May are to die for, with lush greenery all around. Truly a gem of a property.

Gorgeous view, BIG space (almost certainly the hugest bed I’ve seen in my entire life), good wifi, helpful hosts and free snacks… we’ve had a great time here!

The bathroom in the master bedroom has a mild sewer smell - not bothersome tho as long as you close the door.

Outstanding accommodation in an excellent location and by far the most spaciois, clean and comfortable accommodation during our vacation. The apartment is modern with all the kitchen facilities you need and wifi works well. It was lovely as a family to have our own apartment and have a washing machine!. Sami is an outstaning host. He helped us with everything we needed including preparing delicious breakfasts, arranging tours, recommending reataurants, tuk tuks, on going transport etc.. The views are spectacular and the bird calls in the morning watching the sunrise make it hard to believe you are in a city. Sami is kind and thoughtful.and went beyond expectation. Definitely book here if you are visiting Kandy! Thank you Sami and Kishan for your Sri Lankan hospitality!
