How clean and tidy the room was, good location

Bathroom door handle came off when we opened it and some of the lights did not work

Apparent issue with their air-con. Received an email when we were travelling to the hotel by train, it wasn't from the hotel themselves, no contact was made to us by the hotel. I would have at least expected a phone call to explain the (on the day) cancellation. This left us in a situation of having to find alternative accommodation on the train when we might have just not bothered going if were made aware earlier. Extremely unprofessional help when calling the centralised number, that seems to be Edinburgh, she had to take my name to find out what had happened even though she should have known straight away the Glasgow hotel was completely shut to everyone making me think it must have been only our room that was effected, was the way she came across, very confusing phone call. This is such a shame as it would have been my 4th stay at The House of Gods and could be my last. We never even received an apology.

I found the hotel quite magical. The design and decor were beautiful. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were fab, very welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I will definitely book there again. Can't praise the whole experience enough.
