The Academy House by Bevolve

Once we had parked up and headed inside we were delighted by the amount of room we had , the decor is lovely and tasteful, we liked how close we were to the town yet we had a nice quiet peaceful stay , it was very relaxing . The bedrooms were alittle warm for us , fans are in each bedroom but we would have liked more powerful ones to maybe consider . The apartments have some great history , and we said maybe some framed pictures of the old school would be a great idea to have in the apartment to know the history behind the building as it’s beautiful.

Everything was great

We really enjoyed our stay as it was very spacious appartment with huge living room and comfortable kitchen. The place is newly renovated and minutes walk from the centre. The building is an old school house, an interesting feature.

Amazing, huge space and fabulous layout. Decor stunning. Nothing to dislike, apart from the fact there was no key fob to let us in the gate, to park.

Location and accomodation size

The family was made to feel uncomfortable on two occasions by communications from bevolve direct and indirectly via booking.com that noise levels were high incorrectly. Bevolve was contacted on several occasions and advised talking only over family dinner ie no music or TV was on etc. on one of those occasions bevolve stated a noise sensor had been activated, I requested decibel level which was not provided and therefore can only conclude that the sensor device was faulty or bevolve had made a mistake ' no apology has been made'. I cannot place fault on the accomodation as the apartment was well located, accommodated guests suitably and had a nice touch of a Christmas tree etc. The following shortfalls are all forgivable and although not the environment advertised did not effect the stay 1 parking portal not functional for final days 2 entry secure gate continuously left unlocked 3 lack of cutlery for six guests 4 dirty unusable oven trays 'pictures can be provided' 5 on arrival at correct time the apartment was still being cleaned 6 apartment intercom faulty 7 one key provided for all guests. But the inference that the family group were noisy 'inferring unruliness' is insulting. 'The management company is part of the measure of property performance!'

The bedding was all wet when we arrived. We rang the company but they said they couldn’t do anything until the following morning. They promised to send dry bedding the next day but never did. We had to dry it with a hairdryer to enable the children to go to bed. Although they promised compensation I had to chase them for it and they only refunded £20 as they said that was the cost of hiring bedding. The fact that it rendered the accommodation unfit for purpose and frankly ruined our first evening of the holiday wasn’t taken into consideration. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying in accommodation managed by Bevolve.

Getting into the building and accessing the keys felt a bit like an exciting Crystal maze task, but instructions really clear and precise. The apartment itself is beautiful and so many great features. Tea & coffee supplies were a bonus you don't tend to normally have. Location is perfect for the city centre

There honestly isn't much we didn't like. The bedrooms are small and not a lot of space for clothes, but we were only there a short while so not too much of a problem. The main issue for us was the shower in the main bathroom, the seal has gone from the shower door and as a result the floor would get soaked, especially with 6 of us using it. When you only have 1 towel each for the weekend its not ideal.
