Whalers Cove in Poipu

We've stayed here a number of times. In our opinion the nicest for the price on all of Kauai! No resort fee, and no add on for parking. The complex is small, and hidden from the main road to Spouting Horn. Making it more private and quiet than the rest of Kauai's exploding south shore. Very short drive to adjacent Poipu Beach. And very short walk to baby's beach (our name says it all). And kitty corner (and across the street) from KuKuiula Shopping Center. Several upscale restaurants, shopping and even a Lappert's. Farmer's market twice (I think) a week. Adjacent jump off point for diving and snorkeling. Always a gentle breeze so no need for A/C. Bldg 1 is ocean front. Bldg 2 is ocean view. Pool, hot tub, propane BBQ grills and spacious useable lanais. 2BR/2-1/2BA with functional kitchens and upper end furniture/furnishings. Quick cleaning and change of linen every three days. Very good internet service and the staff is super accommodating. It's like living at home except you're in paradise. Nothing is missing.

I really loved this place. Each unit is individually owned. We stayed in 211 - it was very roomy - two bedroom. 4 of us stayed here - Myself, my husband and my two boys - 11 and 15. We never were tripping over each other. The landscaping was great. The pool was perfect temp and the hot tub was perfect. We were walking distance to multiple restaurants and a short drive to the beach. I also checked out unit 125 - GORGEOUS and same set up as 211.

Whaler's Cove is the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing Kauai vacation! We stayed in condo 136 and the views are breathtaking. The unit was large, very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed during our stay. Marianne and her staff were so helpful and made us feel like family. They have everything you need for a perfect day at the beach, including snorkel gear and boogie boards! The sound of the waves crashing at night allowed for the best sleep I have had in years. I wish I could recreate the sound at home! There's a stairway on the property with access to a small Cove. We saw 3 to 4 sea turtles there everyday. My kids thought that was the coolest thing ever. We hope to return one day and stay in 136 again. It was perfect.

This was our fourth time staying at Whalers Cove. We stayed in Condo 134 for the second time which is very comfortable and excellent views of the ocean. Whalers Cove is quiet and peaceful which we were seeking. In addition, Marianne and the entire staff treated us with the Aloha spirit that is so prominent in Hawaii. If we decide to return to Kauai, Whalers Cove will be our first lodging choice!

Excellent views, excellent accommodations and excellent service. Will rebook for next year!

Great layout, every room, except the smaller bedroom,fully faces the pool and the ocean for stunning Hawaiian views. Just a few steps onto a lawn allow you to witness the Hawaiian sunset every evening. Furniture is beautiful and comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked with pans and pots to make any meal. I’ve stayed here multiple times and look forward to doing it soon

We love this condo. If you're looking for spectacular views a great layout this is your spot. The condo is very well taken care of. It's a little Slice of Heaven and we have and we've been here a couple times now. The staff at Whalers Cove are very accommodating and treat you like family.

We had a fantastic stay at Whaler Cove! Marianne's warm welcome and helpful guidance made our arrival seamless. The apartment was spacious, clean, and perfectly located with stunning ocean views. Very close to some nice restaurants (walking distance) and 4 minute drive to Poipu Beach and its wonderful turtles!

Our stay in Unit #124 at Whalers Cove was truly unforgettable, offering one of the most breathtaking ocean views right from our lanai. Each morning brought a new wonder: playful dolphins leaping, curious sea turtles surfacing, vibrant double rainbows, and stunning sunsets painting the sky. The constant, soothing sound of waves crashing against the rocks, just a stone's throw from the condo, was pure bliss. Inside, we found a sanctuary. The beds were incredibly comfortable, with a thoughtful selection of pillow firmness options. The bathrooms appeared newly renovated and felt luxurious. The entire home was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed with local artwork, truly feeling more like a personal retreat than a rental. A special shout-out to the manager, Marianne Martin. Her deep connection to Whalers Cove and the land is palpable; her genuine love for the place and dedication to guests' amazing experiences shine through in every interaction. The fully stocked kitchen made preparing our fresh macadamia nut crusted "catch of the day" a breeze – it quickly became our favorite dinner routine. For evenings when we preferred to dine out, Eating House 1849 was our go-to. We loved sitting at the bar, savoring their house-prepped edamame, the exquisite black garlic & yuzu ahi tartare, and the savory pork and shrimp pot stickers. The bartenders were incredibly kind, and we especially appreciated learning that one of them runs a farm that supplies the restaurant with some of its ingredients – a true farm-to-table experience! For ocean enthusiasts, Whalers Cove/Koloa Landing offers some of the best snorkeling and diving opportunities right at your doorstep. Our last swim in the bay alone brought sightings of six turtles and a vibrant array of fish – definitely bring your goggles, you won't regret it! If sandy shores are more your style, several beautiful beaches are just a 10-minute walk away. We enjoyed swimming and sunbathing at Kiahuna Beach. For a chance to see turtles and monk seals sunbathing on the beach check out Poipu Beach. Golfers have many options on the island. A great deal we discovered was the 10-round package at Kiahuna Golf Course, conveniently located just a 5-minute drive from Whalers Cove. You really can't beat the location of Whalers Cove. Beyond the immediate property, there are enjoyable walking opportunities. A short walk leads to Spouting Horn, a natural blowhole where water shoots up from the ocean. Additionally, the Kukui'ula Shopping Center, which has shops, restaurants, and a farmers market, is conveniently within walking distance. Their farmers market every Wednesday is something worth checking out.

We absolutely love this condo. It has a stunning view, is beautiful inside, and the condo complex is quiet and relaxing. There's a nice pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ units. Maintenance is extremely responsive - ocean facing screen door came off its track and was put back within the hour (it was a tricky one to fix). We come here every year and have already requested 2026 dates. Love this condo!!!
