"Grotty, would not recommend."

Very little

Room not clean. Previous occupants rubbish behind the bedside table. Damaged walls and ceiling. Hotel smelt of damp. Toilets being used for drug use by locals. Noise of music from bar intolerable and went on past midnight.

"Fine if you want old"

Well placed for the A1. Quirky old hotel with lots of character.

We had someone's left over soap in the bathroom and several cobwebs in our room. There was no WIFI in the room and it took ages to get a good temp in the shower - red hot or frozen water for ages! I don't consider we are fussy but for the price, I expected better.

"A friendly, cosy place to stay."

My room was clean and comfortable and relatively quiet apart from a gentle hum of the heating, which didn't bother me at all. The bed was comfortable with great pillows and the room was very cosy. The continental breakfast was good and served by a very pleasant waitress. However, I thought breakfast was included, but on arrival, I was told it wasn't. Make sure you check when booking.

I think the corridors could use a bit of work to make them more friendly. That was all really.
