"Pleasant one night stopover in centuries old coaching inn"

9.0

Convenient location in a nice village, just off the A1(M). Parking out front was easy to find . It's has been in business for centuries , so is not your standard hotel. Staff were all very pleasant , and efficient. We enjoyed the friendly and welcoming atmosphere ; our Fish and Chips , a nice breakfast... and good coffee. Rooms were warm and comfortable. Overall, a very pleasant one night stay on our travels , and it was good value at the price.

Not really a negative ; Our ground floor rooms were very good, as mentioned above. ; but the window is literally on the footpath . It was fine for one night early in the week .Most of the rooms are upstairs, which might be more suited for longer stays.

"It’s ok for an overnight pit stop. Cooked breakfast was nice, just needs a little love shown and it could be a beautiful"

6.0

The building is lovely and the bar area is nice.

It really needs a bit of love shown to it. Everything apart from the bar area is very worn, dated and smells a little unclean. It needs some money and attention spent on it.

"Disappointed"

5.0

The room was huge, the bathroom looked modern. Nicely decorated

There was no hot water for a bath, the shower in the room didn’t work. The room felt dirty. And I’m glad I looked in the kettle before I filled it. It was disgusting. Stained brown inside and full of limescale. Wasn’t sure if I’d actually checked out as no staff in the premises at 8:30am when I left.

"Extremely disappointed."

1.0

On the first night we stayed the pub stayed open until after 12.30 in the morning and it was very very noisy with very loud music. On the second night there was a 50th birthday party with extremely loud disco music until after midnight. We were not informed of either events when we booked otherwise we would have booked somewhere else. We didn’t get a decent sleep on either night. On the first morning there was no one to ask what was going to happen the following night. Very poor.

Everything.
