"Disappointing - more effort needed on the owners part to make sure rooms are up to standard."

4.0

Richard was extremely helpful and welcomed us on arrival. When there was no coffee in the room he went out of his way to go and buy some for us from a local shop. The location of the hotel is very good and there appeared to be sufficient parking.

The smell!! When you enter the hotel there is an overwhelming smell of dog faeces/urine; not helped because it was a warm day. This and the lack of attention to detail such as no coffee, only 1/4 roll of loo paper in the loo and the general state of the place means it was not a comfortable place to stay. We actually left early because of the smell so didn’t spend the night. I agree with one of the other reviewers; it’s a little disingenuous to have a picture of a full English breakfast on your website when food isn’t served.

"Sleep in your car !!"

1.0

Location to town

I was greeted in the front garden by owner and another lady, there was what can only be described as someone dodgy smoking weed by the bin, but i ignored him, asked about private parking to which the reply was "just park in the street opposite" The stench of dog and dog piss hit me like a brick and made me gasp but I needed the room, so just took my key and was shown the room (cupboard) I had a kettle, a microwave, tea cup and spoon, not sure why as no tea making facilities available. Didn't know till morning that there was also no spare toilet roll !!! The room was extremely dirt, with a broken "balcony" door, unable to close securely. I checked the bed and sniffed it. It seemed clean enough. Then I went out of the evening. Back after a few drinks and a meal, in bed I had to suffer about half hour of the dogs responsible for the foul stench yapping relentlessly elsewhere in the building. They finally shut up and I slept ish, apart from people arguing next door. You can see the photos of the shower, door, plate, the wall etc that the whole place needs an overhaul, In the morning I was at a loss, as like I said no coffee, deciding to go out and find some was the worst decision I made, I opened the room door and the stench hit me again, but this time it made it baulk, so without further ado I decided I was out of there (6am) I breathed through my mouth and ran out of the stairs, meanwhile some street kids were ringing the doorbell to be let in, (I let them in, not my problem) steer clear, sleep in a car if you have too, how this place still operates is beyond me.

"If you like hyper pungent wet dog smell, stay here"

3.0

That it is close to Dover.

Oh man, the smell of wet dog is like nothing you can even imagine; it's almost worth staying just to experience the smell because it is so powerful. The chap who runs it is cool and the rooms seem okay but dear lord upon that front door opening you will gag from the wet dog smell it is so pungent.
