Birmingham City 2 Bedroom Apartment

We really loved the accommodation and had a great stay overall, the apartment is beautiful and very modern, The beds were extremely comfortable and it being right outside a corner shop was especially convenient !!

However, there were a few issues we ran into that we wanted to mention. Firstly, there were no basic seasonings provided. While this might seem minor just salt and pepper would’ve made a huge difference whilst we were preparing breakfast, All the Airbnbs we’ve stayed at in the past have offered at least salt and pepper I think this would make a great difference if you guys added this also !! Secondly, many of the cleaning products were either empty or nearly finished. The air fresheners were empty, the washing up liquid was running low, the hand wash seemed watered down, and there wasn’t enough toilet paper provided for our stay. Having kitchen paper would have been helpful or just another tea towel to dry dishes. Lastly, the carpet under the dining table was quite dirty. When we dropped something and picked it up, we noticed it brought up a lot of dirt and hair, which was a bit unpleasant. Along with this the fridge also had a very unpleasant smell every time we would open it and the kitchen bin definitely needs to be replaced as it is broken and annoying to open. We share this feedback in hopes it helps improve future guests experiences, as we did enjoy our stay otherwise and would love to come back !!

The location was fantastic, and the apartment was clean, spacious, and stylish.

It was not a big issue. The apartment was very hot... but there was a heatwave at the time, so can't hold that against the hosts :)

Phone number given by the property to gain access / sort any problems was permanently off

Nothing, couldn't access the property and waited around for 90 mins for any kind of response from the company who stated in the t&cs that 'customer service' is available until 9pm. They didn't try to contact me till 9:15pm, by which time I was at the gig and had already booked somewhere else.

Non-existent customer service. There is no access to the property as there is no lockbox. Was told they gave out the wrong information and gave me a different code to the non-existent lockbox. Calls went straight to the answerphone and, as mentioned, took 4 hrs for a reply. So, I had to go and find somewhere else as we had plans.

The host kept in contact with us from when we booked the accommodation to when we were leaving. He provided us with the gate code and the accommodation code. We were able to check in earlier and the apartment had everything we needed from good TV, nice kitchen, lovely rooms and good communication from the host.

The only thing we didn't like were the beds. One was broken in the middle which caused you to lay funny and the other just wasn't comfy at all. Apart from that, everything was perfect.

Good space, quiet location, light and airy accommodation.

On arrival instructions to gain access to property were totally wrong, two messages describing different lock boxes in different locations but no lock boxes actually found. Rang contact number half a dozen times,it went straight to voicemail every time. We were getting very worried we would have to find alternative accommodation. Finally after over half an hour later we received a call having messaged the contact through Booking.com, we were advised by the lady that Booking.com had 'again' sent out old instructions. The lady confirmed there is no lockbox onsite so she remotely let us in the front security door. We also received incorrect instructions about car parking, and finally got a third message with correct parking instructions for the car park at the rear, rather than parking in the next road down. Good size accommodation but let down by uncomfortable sofa, no manuals for appliances (took internet search and a lot of time to actually get oven to work) and lots of household items in every wardrobe/cupboard.
